Hi. I think I have read that with National if you reserve a mid-size car at the Orlando Airport, when you pick up your car you are free to choose a mid-size car OR a standard car OR a full size car. Its the same price no matter which you drive off with.

Is this also true with SUV's with National? If you reserve a mid-size SUV, are you free to take a standard SUV OR a full size SUV?

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2 :)

Did you join National's Emerald Club? It's their Emerald Aisle where you reserve an intermediate vehicle but can pick any vehicle on the aisle. Sometimes there are vehicles from other categories on that aisle, but you can't be sure. It's the luck of the draw.

Sorry, yes I did join the Emerald Club. But when you say an "intermediate vehicle", does this include a mid-size SUV? And are "cars" and "SUV's" on the same aisle?

By "intermediate vehicle" I meant a mid-sized car. I've never rented an SUV so I'm not sure how they handle those, though I have seen SUVs on the Emerald Aisle on occassion. Perhaps you could call National and ask about SUVs.

My experience with National is that if you make an Emerald Aisle reservation, your rate is for an intermediate. When you get there, you can pick from whatever happens to be on the Emerald Aisle. Generally speaking, you should not assume there will be SUV's on the Aisle, and I think there usually will not be. If you need an SUV, you will probably need to rent an SUV. I can't remember the SUV rows at MCO, but I think you need to rent the class of SUV you need.

I guess you could make an Aisle reservation along with an SUV reservation (with or without National) and look at the Aisle when you get there...

If you make a reservation for a mid size SUV you go to that row and pick out the suv you want not the Emerald Aisle. The Emerald Aisle is for those who reserve a mid-size car - they are able to take anything in the aisle. You are guaranteed the mid size car you've reserved but you may get something bigger. This is if you are an Emerald Club member.
