I've had a National Emerald Aisle mid-size reservation for 9/8 to 9/17 for $180 including all fees using Entertainment Book rate and $20 coupon. When I checked today, a full size vehicle moved to the cheapest spot. I'm now at $163.36 for 9 days full size Emerald Reserve. :yay: Thought I'd share so the rest of you September renters can check your rates! Good luck.

Alamo has been higher than National each time I checked. I can now get a mid-size with them using Entertainment rate and coupon for $137.20 for 9 days!! A 43.00 savings over my prior price! :cheer2:

Thanks for the heads up. I have been checking daily for our 9/19 - 9/26 trip. No luck until today. Saves me about $20. :thumbsup2

Thanks again. :teeth:

:cheer2: Thanks for posting!

I checked and I am down $50 from last week for 9/12-9/20 with the BJ's member discount and extra rental day coupon.

I started originally at $236 with Alamo, down to $176 last week, and $126 today!

Thanks for the heads up.

I've been checking on and off for weeks now and no movement, then this past week rates have dropped. We started at around $182 for the Aisle for Sept. 9-16. Rates have been dropping and was down to about $152, then yesterday down to around $145 and today down to $134.

Of course, I'll keep checking as we get closer, but this is with the WalMart code available on Mousesavers and the Ent. coupon for $20.

I went ahead and checked Alamos' rates for our trip, even though I am a huge fan of National's Emerald Aisle. For an 8 day rental - compact - with Wal-Mart Code and e-coupon the total with taxes and fees is only $108. :Pinkbounc That's a great rate. So, now I have signed up for Quick Silver and will continue to monitor Alamo and National rates for our trip.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! I checked this morning and nothing had changed yet...I had a midsize booked using Costco and their $20 off coupon, just rebooked and saved $57.38.

Wow... my 2 week convertible rental (9/20-10/4) was around $650 when I booked it in July using the Amex contract ID, checked today and it's over $1000. But... then I tried the Florida 10% discount contract ID, and it came up at around $490.

Woo Hoo!

Thanks for the heads up!

I checked and using the FL ID, went from 183 to 126 for an intermediate with National.

That makes it worth it for us to keep the car for the whole week. We are meeting up with our friends our second night there, so we would need transportation for 2 days. The cost of the rental car for 2 days was high enough, or a town car would have been expensive enough, that with this rate, it will be worth it to keep the car around for backup for a few more days. :cool1:

Thanks... I just saved another $20 on my 8/25-8/30 rental with Alamo. I'm now paying $82... not bad :sunny:

Wow - thanks for the heads up dvcmbr94. Our rate came down again. We have a 15 day rental at the end of September out of O'Hare/Chicago w/unlimited miles. We just went from 460 to 315! What an awesome savings! :cool1: we just used the Emerald Club contract code and the National $20 off coupon.

I'm very happy with Alamo: 10 days/compact car/total $127. (Master card code found on Mousesavers and E-coupon)
Now I can stop checking car rates daily... :3dglasses

all you going in September, but I'm waiting for October rates to come down!! They're ridiculous!!

Thank you! :thumbsup2 Finally, I have been checking and for our dates (9/17 to 9/29) the price had gone up in recent weeks. Yesterday, I saved $25 off a 13 day rental, and today, I saved another $5. I used the Entertainment Book $20 off coupon and the EC code.

Happy Dance!

Also, I am saving my company $90. I am changing an Enterprise rental to National Emerald Aisle for two of my colleagues. On-site good!

I got a minivan for 6 days for $220.00 which is a very descent rate with Alamo. I never really understood how the same car company (National & Alamo) can charge different rates for their vehicles, even though they are the same company. :confused3

Don't forget that after you rent the vehicle you are still looking at $40 to $70 bux worth of taxes that are not prepaid and not included in the price of the rental. All of those are separate from the rental price of the vehicle. Wait till you see the list of charges.

Am I doing something wrong?? We're looking at a compact for 2 days (weekend) in mid-Sept., no matter what code I use it's almost $58 (before taxes). It's been that same rate for weeks now...

Weekend rates are generally a 3 day minimum, what a Sat. night keep.
Try National or Alamo, they have coupons on their sites for weekend rentals.

I've been cancelling/rebooking daily...

Alamo- with Bjs coupon $20 off..

8 days for midsize car..all taxes & fees $90.88

Today I tried the Hot Deals section of Alamo even though they're for 8/15-8/29, I plugged in our dates Sept.28-Oct.4 (6 nights). I added the $20 e-coupon also found under hot deals which brought our total for a midsize to $98.86 incl all taxes/fees!! Woo hoo! Sounds way better than $155!! :cheer2: :woohoo: :cool1:

Thanks for posting this...I reserved a full size w/ Alamo last week for 8 days (9/30 - 10/8) = $213.79. Just checked and was able to rebook for $179.80! :cheer2:
