We leave in less than 8 weeks for our land and sea vacation! Lots of times to Disney, but this is my first cruise! I was wondering if anyone has done the dolphin encounter at Blue Lagoon on Nassau? We have a 5 and 8 year old. Or can we go over to Blue Lagoon from a boat on the island without booking an excursion? Or is it not worth it to go there and should we just go to Cable Beach? Lots of questions and I would appreciate any suggestions! :earboy2:

We haven't done the Dolphin Encounter yet...we're leaving Thursday and have that excursion booked for our day in Nassau. I'm hoping to have lots of pictures, so when I get back I'll be more than happy to let you know how it went if you like!

My sister and her friend did the dolphin encounter a couple months back. They absolutely loved it. Although..they did say..it takes up most of the day, they only had about 15 minutes to shop when they got back to where their ship was docked, before they set sail. They said they wouldn't have traded that for anything. Their pictures came out great.

UGAFan0829 - have agood time on your cruise and give us a report on your Dolphin Encounter. My 4 DD's cannot wait to do this excursion!

Hope you have good weather!

Can't wait to hear about this one! We're booked for this excursion as well, but I wonder, is missing Nassau worth it? This will be our first cruise, and my kid's first time out of the US. We're all so psyched!! :cool1: :cool1:

DH and I did the Dolphin Encounter a couple of years ago. It was fantastic. There is nothing sweeter than getting a hug and a kiss from a dolphin. "Our" dolphin was Sean. He was 7 years old and very smart, per the trainer. We had lunch and spent some time at the beach after the encounter, so I would think if seeing Nassau was important to you, you could just get on the water taxi back to the boat right after the encounter and still have some time to shop. If you have to make a choice, I definately think this is worth missing Nassau. :flower:

What a GREAT idea! I didn't imagine we would be able to 'get away' once the excursion got underway. That sounds like a perfect blend for us. Thanks!!
