DH & I, DS (age 10 and in a wheelchair) and DD (age 4) are sailing on the Wonder in December. Any suggestions/recommendations for Nassau? Good excursions? Things to stay away from?

You don't need to address the wheelchair issue; we'll work that out. What I'm interested in is which excursions, if any, are worth the $$ and kid-friendly. And, if you don't recommend the excursions, what do you recommend?

TIA!!!:fish:

I highly recommend taking a taxi from the downtown shopping area to the Wyndham at Crystal Beach. We had a wonderful time at the beach and swimming area. We were charged between $4 and $5 per person each way. There is no charge at the Wyndham. We had a pleasant day.

If you plan on going into the shopping areas, there are many places that are absolutely not wheelchair accessible. I was lucky enough to be able to hop up the one step, but I am not sure if your dd would be able to do the same. Oh, and be careful of the sidewalks. They are not the best. We got our wheel stuck to the point that it came off the track and we were stuck until a very nice delivery man was able to get the wheel back on for us. The shopping building when you first get off the boat is completely accessible and there will be no problems there.

By the way, my friends did the glass-bottom boat, which we were told was not wheelchair accessible. If your dh or you can carry your dd, you would be able to get to the boat, but I was told that the dock was not the most stable and there was only a handrail on one side. Not possible for me and my broken leg that I had at the time.
