I'm thinking of booking dolphin swims for us directly with the Blue Lagoon in Nassau.
Has anyone done this?
How was the swim? (not the encounter, but the swim)
How was the boat transporation from paradise island to the blue lagoon? I'm referring to the transporation provided by the Blue Lagoon (not the disney excursion).

Thanks in advance!

Beth

We (DW, DS, and myself) did the dolphin swim last June in he Nassau. The boat was a double decker ferry boat. The swim was a lot of fun. First, there was about a 15 minute lecture, then you broke up in groups. We had 4 groups in our area with 2 dolphins (Jake and the Fatman). You were able to touch the dolphin, hug, kiss, and dance with the dolphin. The dolphins did a hurdle over top of your family. Probably my highlight was the foot push. One dolphin on each foot pushes you across the lagoon. They have a photographer to take photos and video, but I thought it was nice you could also take in your own camera. I realize it is a lot of money, but a great experience. Enjoy your cruise.

We went there in February. There are two types of things to do there. The Encounter (what the DCL excursion is) is where you stand on a platform that is about 3 feet into the water and they dring the dolphin up to you.

The Dolphin swim is more expensive and takes more time. You actually swim with the dolphin, and they do things like push you through the water.

We took a taxi over to the Paradise pier then about a 30 minute ferry to blue lagoon. There is also a ferry to the pier near where you get off the ship.

We took the ferry back and it docks right next to the ship.

We booked it ourselves rather than thru DCL and it was less expensive and you can specify the time you want to be there.

It's at www.dolphinswims.com

How much did it cost for the ferry ride?

thanks for the info!
i went into the site before and it looked nice...
i'm glad to hear you enjoyed it..
i definitely think the swim looks more worthwhile than the encounter....
we did the dolphin swim at discovery cove in orlando, but this looks more interesting....
i hope i don't get seasick on the ferry ride (i got seasick on the statue of liberty ferry, so it's not that farfetched)....

Thanks again for the info....

We just want to hang out there. I wonder if you can book that with out disney. My son does not want to swim with the dolphins. Any help would be great

Hi--We just did this on March 3 and it was great, the price was 75.00 a person to be in waist deep water with them or 150.00 to swim with them. We booked at are hotel so not sure how much the price is on the boat. You can book it on there site (book early books up quick)
www.dolphinencounters.com

also the ferry over to PI is 3.00 a person oneway. Then you take the Dolphin Encounter Ferry to there Island.

Oh and the charge 20.00 to watch if your not in to going in the water.
Hope this helps--Kelly :wave2:

We have done the dolphin swim twice, and it was wonderful. We also booked directly with Blue Lagoon and had no problems whatsoever. It is one of the most exciting things I have ever done. You'll love it.
