We are leaving on October 3. This is our first cruise-- just me and my husband. While in Nassau I would love to visit some beautiful beaches. Can anyone tell me names of beaches, how to get there, what it is like or if it is best to do an excursion. Thanks.:D

I don't know about "beautiful," but there is a public beach on Paradise Island where you can spent some time if you get a notion. it's $4 to $5 per person by taxi. There are no beach chairs, so bring towels if you want to lay out. We have had natives tell us there are some much nicer beaches on the other side of the island that are less crowded too, but we've never checked them out. The cab drivers would probably know of them.

we're going the wonder also oct. 3 i've signed us up already for the blue algoon excursion we are doing the dolphin thing but i have read on these boards that not only this is a lagoon but also a private beach, said were they've filmed scenes from splash gillian's island and flipper? the ferry takes you to this island and you can also just do the beach/lagoon thing maybe this might be an idea??
