Nassau Beaches near Port?

If we had extra time I wanted to take the kids down to the beach to just walk while at Nassau. Is there a beach near the port to walk? I don't want to venture to far from the ship---I am not looking for a place to swim.

Nassua is not the greatest port. I am sure there is someone out there that has a suggestion, But did you ever think of staying on the ship lots of people get off and the ship is quiet try some fun stuff with the kids or enjoy a quiet pool area after the second cruise we only got off the ship for castaway we just LOVE the ships Enjoy your DCL. I have also heard that Nassau is not the greatest of ports, so I plan on spending most of the day on the ship, but I wouldn't mind at least taking a quick look at it. I have heard a lot about the pirate museum. I know my dd4 and ds7 will like that. Does anyone have any other beach/cultural ideas that they would enjoy? (besides Atlantis)
