The 34th of 36 races of the 2009 NASCAR season will be held in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday, November 8th.
The race is titled "The Dickies 500" and will be held at Texas Motor Speedway.
Texas Motor Speedway is an oval track with a lap distance of 1.50 miles. The racers will travel 334 laps for a total race distance of 501 miles.
Qualifying is scheduled for Friday, November 6th. Please make your picks before qualifying starts.
#99 Carl Edwards has the most wins here since 1975 with 3 victories.
Other history:
In 4/09, Reutimann had the fasyest qualifying time in a race won by #24 J Gordon.
In 4/08, #88 JR had the pole but #99 C Edwards won the race.
In 11/08, #24 J Gordon led to start and #99 C Edwards led to finish first.
In 4/07, #24 J Gordon won the pole and #31 J Burton won the trophy.
In 11/07, #1 M Truex was forst behind the pace car in a race won by #48 J Johnson.
I am not aware of any rule changes like NASCAR made at Talladega.
Ready to pick? Got your strategies set? Is the cup chase over? Will #48 play it safe?
Hmmmmm.....
I am ready to pick!
My Texas picks are:
1. C Edwards <~~~ FLIP! Finally!
2. JR! <~~~ Even though I'll have to type a longer name for my spare....JR's getting a new crew chief so the old one will go out with a bang.....
3. J Gordon <~~~ He'll do well.....only so #48 doesn't win the cup in a cakewalk....
4. M Martin <~~~ See above....
5. M Kenseth <~~~ My hunch and securing his 2010 ride....
My spare will be K Kahne <~~~ shortest name I could come up with on a moments notice....
OK!
Good Luck EVERYBODY...and....ENJOY the race!
