The 21st race of the 2009 NASCAR season takes us back to the Poconos Raceway in Long Pond, PA!
This race is called "The Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500" and will be run on Sunday, August 2, 2009.
Qualifying is scheduled for Friday, July 31st, so PLEASE make your picks before the qualifying begins.
This Raceway is a Tri-Oval with a lap distance of 2.5 miles. The racers will circle the Raceway 200 times for a total race distance of 500 miles.
Bill Elliot has themost winds here since 1975 with 5 victories.
Other history:
The Poconos race just held a few weeks back (in June) had #14 T Stewart winning from start to finish.
In 6/08, #9 K Kahne did the same thing! First all the way to the chckered flag.
In 8/08, #48 J Johnson won the pole position in a race won by #99 C Edwards.
In 6/07, #39 R Newman had the fastest qualifying time and #24 J Gordon crossed the star-finish line first.
In 8/07, #88 JR found hmself on the pole in a race won by #2 Kurt Busch.
OK! That help?
