The 35th race of the 36 race 2009 season will be held at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, November 15th.
This race is called: "The Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500" which is pretty darn long if you ask me....so, I'll have to pick JR as my spare for sure now.
Qualifying is Friday, November 13th, so please make your picks before qualifying starts.
Phoenix International Raceway is in Avondale AZ nad is an oval track. There will be 312 laps around the 1.00 miles per lap for a total race distance of 312 miles.
Hard to believe this is the second to last race for the year.
#48 J Johnson has the most wins here since 1975 with 3 victories.
More history:
In 4/09, #5 M Martin led from start to finish.
In 4/08, #39 R Newman turned in the fastest qualifying time in a race won by #48 J Johnson (3rd win)
In 11/08, #48 J Johnson went from start to finish to win (2nd win)
In 4/07, #24 J Gordon led from start to finish.
In 11/07, #99 C Edwards led at the start and #48 J Johnson won the trophy (1st win)
#29 K Harvick swept both races in the 2006 season.
You'll notice #48 J Johnson won his 3 victories in just 3 years.
OK! I am ready to pick:
My Phoenix picks are:
1. C Edwards <~~~ I haven't given up on him yet!
2. Kyle Busch <~~~ Uhmmmm....I don't know why....
3. J Johnson <~~~~ He's annointed....
4. T Stewart <~~~ It's now....or....see ya next year...
5. C Bowyer <~~~ My hunch
My spare will be JR! <~~~ As promised from above!
Good Luck EVERYBODY....and....ENJOY the race!!
