We are visiting Daytona International Speedway for the "Coke Zero Sugar 400" on SATURDAY, July 6th. This is our 2nd visit to Daytona this season.
Qualifying is set for FRIDAY. July 5th. Please make your picks before qualifying is scheduled to begin.
Some fun facts and interesting tidbits:
Daytona International Speedway opened in 1959.
The Che track is a 2.5 mile per lap tri-oval. This race will see 168 laps raced for a total race distance of 420 miles.
The laps raced was extended in 2018 to 168 and will be the same this year.
This race is also well known for its close finishes. In the last 21 races, there is only an average of 0.154 seconds between 1st and 2nd place.
David Pearson leads all racers with 4 wins.
For the active drivers, #20, #17, #2, #48, #4, #18 and #10 are all tied with 1 win.
#20 won the 2018 race.
Dale JR!! was the last non-active driver with 2 wins.
OK! My picks:
J Logano <~~~ On the move...
D Hamlin <~~~ Needs to make a move...a big move...
Kyle Busch <~~~ Seems to be dropping off a bit of late....looking for a bounce back at Daytona...
Kurt Busch <~~~ Hunch...
M Truex JR!!! <~~~ I am thinking he could join the list of 1 time winners...
My spare will be K Harvick<~~~ Team troubles are escalating...keeping my eye on him...
