It appears that the championship memories from last year have replaced the "anger management" training for the #20. I cannot believe the way he slammed the #17 into the grass. That was just plain reckless regardless of any "taps" he may have gotten a few laps before. And I even like the guy. His speech that mentioned rough driving and bump drafting after the twin 125's and how someone was going to get killed just wreaked of hypocrisy at the end of the 500. I hope last years Tony shows up soon.

Congrats to the #48 on a job well done without their crewchief. Did anyone else catch the snide remark by Ryan Newman when the race was over. He said "Who knows, maybe they'll find that the #48 is still illegal!"

I MISS RUSTY!!! Just didn't know who to cheer for....I know anyone but Ryan and Busch. DH came home with a Greg Biffle shirt for me though!
Do you think he is trying to tell me something? He is a Earnhardt fan, So I know he is not trying to sway me towards a CHEVY driver.

So our trip to the Daytona 500 was awesome. We got there Thursday afternoon and checked in the Shades of Green. First thing Friday morning we went to the Jeff Gordon Network Fan event where I learned I'm a fan -- not a fanatic. Some of those folks are way into it. They had breakfast for us, they gave away tons of Jeff Gordon merchandise (interesting thing - most of the winners were male - my husband and son both won something - glad I brought them with me otherwise I'd have won nothing!). Jeff arrived about 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. He took questions and talked for about 45 minutes. He was very nice and enthusastic, he posed for pictures with everyone and signed one item for everyone in attendance.

As we left we were handed a Jeff Gordon bobble head, an ornament and a bag full of stuff

Saturday was the Busch race and it was great. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. After the race we drove back to Orlando and meet Ginny and Andy at the NASCAR Cafe. Great food and even better company. My daughter and DH were a little leery about meeting someone from the internet but afterwards Jackie said "I'm glad we came they were very nice people"

Sunday's weather was not so good but the race was good and we were at the Daytona 500 so can't complain.

Our trouble with Mammoth (our van) actually started on Sunday with a flat tire on the way to the track. Turns out the stem valve broke so we headed to Pep Boys right across from the track and $10.00 and 20 minutes later we were waiting in the line for parking. Then on Monday night (Tuesday morning 3:30AM) we got another flat tire for the same reason. DH changed the tire but we decided to stop for the night since we no longer had a spare and DH was afraid the stem valves on the other 2 tires could go at any minute. We ended up having to buy two completely new tires and having the valve stem replaced on the other 2. Finally got on the road back to OK at 2 PM on Tuesday and arrived home this morning at 5AM.

My DS(9) loves Gordon, I may just have to sign him up for his fan club and take him one year to one of these get togethers.

I'm a Truex, Jr. fan and in his fan club but I didn't get to go to the fan club get together last year - it was held at DEI in the Trophy Room which I hear not many people get to see - maybe this year.
