NASCAR Fans - Pick Your Top 5 for the BRICKYARD! (RESULTS page 4)

got to love when JJ gets fined the same amount as Tommy Baldwin Jr.
the crew chief goes down to another pit and starts a fight,so lets only fine him $10,000.
But let someone follow the rules, not push anything off the roof, and only move a sign (that NASCAR placed on the hood) onto the roof and lets fine him the same amount.
me thinks Mike Helton needs to get over himself.

anyway enough soapbox.

1. Stewart
2. Johnson
3. McMurray
4. Harvick
5. Mayfield

The sleeper of the race, Ken Schrader, look for a top 10 finish from him.

1. #29 Harvick (not my favorite, but he seems to like this place)
2. #8 Jr. (know he's no 100%, but I can't bail on the poor kid.;) )
3. #24 Gordon (came in 4th last yr)
4. #17 Matt (had a second place finish last yr....course last yr
seemed to be his yr in general ;) )
5. #48 Johnson (had to do it...seems he's on a roll this yr)

Spare...#15 Mikey

Here are my picks:

#8 Jr.
#9 Kasey Khane
#24 Jeff Gordon
#18 Bobby Labonte
#29 Kevin Harvick

Spare - #20 Stewart

As for the botttle - I think Nascar has to stop letting the sponsors dictate what happens. I think Johnsons team came up with a way to plug their sponsor and not give a sponsor that wasn't their air time. I'm sure the next thing will be the driver walking away from the car for the interview so that they don't have it in the background and then Nascar will fine them for that. Yuck!

Got to see #48 Johnson on Regis and Kelly this AM. I didn't watch the whole interview, so I don't know if he talked about the fines.

My Brickyard picks are:

1.) 20 Stewart (crossing fingers big time for this win, it's my B.day)
2.) 24 Gordon
3.) 48 Johnson
4.) 19 Mayfield
5.) 38 Sadler

spare 9 Kahne

BTW, I love Rascal Flatts. :D

:wave2: Hey Guys! Maybe we can get some conversation going today. Does anyone have any thoughts on Jeff Gordons opinion that the person in the lead after the 26 races should win something like either bonus money or a trophy or something. I think thats a good idea. Something to say all that hard work paid off in more then just 5 points from the driver second place in the points. Also, I was thinking it would be really cool if the 2nd Daytona race switched dates with Homestead-Miami. Then the season would begin and end in Daytona and both races are a big deal. Well, I'm sure that won't happen but I think it would be cool.

For anyone interested.

Hey all, can I play? I don't know how I never found this thread before. I guess I don't spend enough time lurking around the CB.

So what's the deal, I just pick the five drivers I think will finish top 5 and then a spare for?

BTW, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks that JJ fine was ridiculous.

Of course you can play.

The Rules:

1. Pick the 5 drivers you think will have the best finish.
2. Pick a spare in case one of your five doesn't qualify due to accident, injury or no sponsor (I forget who it was last year that caused us to add the spare but with Jr's burns we've used it this year).
3. Picks must be posted prior to the start of qualifying, which this week isn't until Saturday.

After the race I take all the entries and average their drivers' finishes.

The Goal - To have the best overall (lowest) finish for the week.

The Prize - None really just the knowledge that you picked good ;) Bragging rights on the DIS sometimes too.

I normally post the Pick Your Top 5 thread on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. We try to keep it bumped to the first page but the CB is a very busy place ;)

Welcome!

I was the points champion last year but with this new points deal I don't think the Oreos, McDonalds, Geratol, Pepsi, Steak N Shake Toyota Mini Van has much chance this year. My pit stops are getting more frequent as the years go on and my aero package definitely isn't what it used to be.

It's one of them racin deals.....;)
