NASA is set to launch at 2:15am on the 2nd. That will be in the middle of our Disney trip. Should we take the kids over to watch the launch or is a night time launch boring and hard to see????? PLEASE ADVISE. (kids are 16 15 13 9)

I have been told by a few people that it is really something to see. Most people just pull over to the side of the road and look.

If we had the opportunity, I certainly wouldn't plan to miss it. DH saw one before we married, and he agrees.

I was at OKW for the 1997 launch of Cassini to Saturn on a Titan IV. At the time, we didn't drive out to the Cape to watch but just walked out on our balcony. It was pretty spectacular even from 60 miles away.

Now MESSENGER to Saturn is using a smaller launch vehicle, the Delta II Heavy. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to see it from Orlando.

Myself, I'm going to head out there and watch the launch. I have this thing for interplanetary missions!

What time is the launch? We are flying into MCO that day and wont arrive til late. I'm sure we will miss it, but ........

Just keep in mind that launches do get changed. I wouldn't announce it to the family until you are sure it will be launched that day.
