Narnia replacement to be Legend of Jack Sparrow!

Its all about the merchandise...as we know.

but hey...at least its something with appeal to some...and more importantly...it's something

the pirate thing is not going away...as we will see at least two more movies in the next 5 years or so...so at least this kinda thing won't be outdated three weeks after its opened.

my standards at this point are practically a limbo pole on the ground:wizard:

A bit disappointing, but not surprising.

My family just watched Pirates 4 this weekend. I was rather bored watching it. I liked the other movies.

Sounds like it could be fun, its new, so thats a plus.

Anything will be far superier to the Narnia attraction. Wish they did a more modern subject but as long as they do it well and it is fun I'll be happy.
Little woried about meshing the theme with the area but it is all *******ized anyway...

I kinda like this! As a person fascinated by behind the scene film stuff, I enjoyed the narnia stuff, and it would be cool if they did the same for pirates, but the attraction sounds interesting! :thumbsup2

I just can't wait!!!

Why complain...they might be replacing essentially nothing with some sort of (minor) attraction. Captain Jack / Johnny Depp is still very, very popular, and if they can make an interesting attraction out of it, then I say let's go for it.

I still think Disney should try to keep the same themes in the same parks instead spreading the same franchises over the different parks like they've been doing. IMO it destroys the uniqueness of each park.

It's hard to adjust the production lines in the sweatshops outside of Disneyland Shanghai...

so there's your answer....i think its exactly that simplistic.

same rides, same crap in the shops

i actually agree with you...something is better than nothing.

but its the "great! can't wait to see it" kind of mentality that has caused quality decay in the parks and other disney segments over the last 20 years. because they do it...doesnt' mean they need to be praised for it.

they should be rewarded when they produce quality...and far too often they are rewarded for mediocrity with a disney sign slapped in front of it. the non-discerning consumer culture at WDW will eventually lead to a complete downfall - imho

How dare people get excited about something you aren't excited about!? the nerve of these people!:worship:

First...it is only my opinion...as stated

Second...you'll win anyway
They will continue with a policy that the late Roy E Disney described as "timidity in the theme park business"

Hail to the victor

I'm going to disagree. The ride is the ride, and yes it's PotC, but it seems like this attraction will be more focused on the MOVIE, which is something that fits well with DHS theme.

I'm not highly praising it, I just think it's good for them to continue to put new things in place. Not for nothing - I think small-scale attractions being added should be encouraged as well. Realize that the parks should be made up of 25 % headliners (E and D tickets) and 75 % lesser attractions (A,B & C tickets) that 75 % of new stuff is going to be on that level. This is probalby at best a B attraction and nothing to get real excited about, but on the other hand, it's always nice to see something new, as I don't think they have been adding new things at a faster enough rate in Florida since about 2006.

I agree with everything you say...

i don't want cedar point or six flags steel monstrousities...(though even those could be used in the right manner if disney has the imagination to use one)

and i don't think they need to shatter the 200 million dollar barrier with each ride...

i like the B/C/D rides...nobody did them better than disney and they are responsible for the atmosphere of the park and thats what made disneyland and its successors so great.

BUT...what kills it now is that they cannot build a reasonable product within their budget guidelines, never seem to invest enough for a finished product, or fail to "complete" a park after its initial concept is slashed...no matter what the time.

MGM was empty when it opened...ok....they'll do it overtime. Great
And they pieced here and there...but the minute the studio was shuttered and sat they should have expanded proportionately....didn't

AK was cut...needed more time/money to recover from the cost...ok, no problem.
Haven't done it....just window dressing and one failed E ticket...here we are 11 months from the FIFTEENTH anniversary.

Studios paris....same problem...california adventure...same problem....hong kong...same problem.

and couple that with their failed rennovations to EPCOT and the disasterous moves at PI...and they look either lost, cheap, incompetent...or worse (and probably most accurate)...ALL 3.

need to go back to the once a year policy at WDW for the next 5-10 years....that is the way out and it needs to be "swallowed" just as the California Adventure redo was....all four parks need real additions or alterations once a year for a steady stream of years.

they don't have to be blockbusters...i'm not asking for cutting edge or new "lands"....but solid additions.

i'll hold my breath though:earboy2:

When I saw the name of the attraction, all I could think of was Lonely Island & Michael Bolton's "Jack Sparrow" song! :rotfl2:
