Has anyone ever ordered teh filet mignon and lobster tail and tried to substitute the filet mignon for another lobster tail?

They will not do that. But, like the previous poster stated you could always order the whole lobster. It is very delicious!

DW and I would both order the combo then she could have the red meat while I feast on lobster. Dunno that gets you any advantages though.:earsboy:

If you only like the tails, why couldn't the OP ask for two tails and pay the difference, whatever that is? I'm sure Narcoossee's would come up with a price if you asked...

I was kinda wondering the same thing. Only I was thinking about asking them to substitue scallops for the filet. The price looks to be about the same for those two indivual entrees. I'm not a big red meat eater but LOVE lobster tail. And, I hear great things about the scallops.

Anyone ever try this?

Well, I plan to do this on Thursday 8/30 so send me a PM so I can tell you thumbs up or down. If they say no I will either order the full lobster dinner or another fish dish.

On Aug 31st I did indeed substitute the scallops for the filet, fantastic meal!

Can someone confirm that the lobster tail is actually Maine lobster and not Florida/spiny lobster?

We have an ADR there for Wednesday, September 5th and want to split this entree as long as it is indeed Maine lobster. I would think it is as the whole lobster is labelled as a Maine lobster but want to be sure beforehand.

1) The steamed lobster is Whole Maine Lobster.
2) The Butter Poached Lobster (paired with meat) is not Maine Lobster.

NOTE: Normally, the Maine Lobster is soft-shell, instead of hard-shell. After a lobster molts, the soft-shell lobster has considerably less meat than the hard shell, and is less firm. Some think they are more sweet than hard-shell. The soft shell also makes cracking the shell a little more difficult.

The Scallop substitution is indeed possible if you will go back to the Narcoossee's home page and click on the "Restaurant Review of the Restaurant" you will hear where the Reviewer subbed the scallops for the lobster.

We have reservations in Mid-late December and are looking forward to it.
