A prelude to bring you up to speed.....

So the K-Man and I for the past several years have had the pleasure and luxury (uhm...see if you agree after this report) of a trip to the World right around Easter time every year for a trade show.

Having gone to Narcoossee's last year, my boss actually ASKED to go back again this year.

Sooo......here is how it plays out...

A week before the trip, the Boss tells me he'd like to dine at Narcoossee's again. I think to myself....:confused3 "You want me to arrange a reservation at a restaurant the week before one of the busiest seasons at Disney?:confused3 Of course, I tell him "NO PROBLEM", and quickly send a note off to our friend Mark, who is the manager over at Yachtsman Steakhouse to see if he can arrange a table for us through his wife Cindy.

As you will recall, we found out that Cindy has moved from Narcoossee's over to Citricos.

Well, Mark writes back that he's been able to arrange a table for us even though Cindy is no longer there.

After I breathe a sigh of relief .....I go into my Boss' office and said "All set, party of 4 at Narcoossee's at 7:30....and we'll finish just in time for the fireworks!"

Here we go with the Boss again ... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
After having canceled the reservations Tuesday night at the Yachtsman, who knew what to expect this night! :confused3 :confused3

So.....more information....the Boss, how shall we say....is NOT geographically inclined, so I made arrangements for his rental car to have a GPS unit on it.

Guess what? After the first day, the GPS unit craps out and the only thing to do it to keep the car or return it to the airport to exchange it.

The Boss decides to "survive" withOUT the GPS, BUT will I!??!?

The K-Man and I arrive at the Red Roof Inn at about 7pm for our 7:30 ressie and decide to sit in the lobby till about 7:20p while we await the Boss and his wife's arrival.

Sweating with ANTICIPATION ... we stood outside the Red Roof Inn. Poor Mister Disney, knowing all of his bosses' idiosyncracies ... and me ... worried how my hair looked ...

No pictures ... but are you sensing our STRESS?

Yes, this is the same guy who we arranged to have dinner with at the Yachtsman on Tuesday ... who canceled that all on us ... which caused us to end up at CiCi's.

Oh ... the K-Man had better shut up and perhaps work on Thursday Night at the Yachtsmans Steak House before we ALL get SPANKED!

I'm glad to finally see another review from you guys. It seems like so long ago since your Citricos and Flying Fish reviews, and this is one I'm anxious to hear, since I'll be dining at Narcoossees for the first time this year.

WELCOME TO CICI'S!

WAIT....We're talking about Narcoossee's here.....

We now break for a much needed cocktail hour with the "Lady of the Manor", Disney music playing on the Yamaha Disclavier and Appletinis in front of the fire place.

Back in a few.

OMG ... here comes the Lady of the Manor in her house coat clinking her martini glass ... quick POUR!

OK....cocktail hour is over....

Where were we?

The Red Roof Inn, 1920 hours, heading outside to meet the Boss.

One Ringy dingy, two ringy dingys.....my cell phone goes off.....with the dreaded caller id of "THE BOSS"

I accept the call to hear expletives on the other end of the phone.....

The Boss, was LOST!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

After I give him very explicit directions, 20 minutes later he shows up.

I WHACKED Mister Disney! "I TOLD YOU TO BRING THE FLASK!"

I could hear the Boss over all of the noise of the cars being dropped off and picked up as the guests arrived at the Red Roof Inn. Thank God poor Richard is deaf as he was standing next to us and he too might have heard the cussing.

Well, suffice it to say, the Boss arrived, wife in tow. Too cheap to valet park, we watched as they trudged up from the Self-Park Lot along with the maids and other staff arriving for the evening shift.

The walk did them good as it gave him time to cool down. We exchanged pleasantries and headed through the lobby toward the restaurant. You could cut the tension with a chain saw. They obviously weren’t speaking to each other and we were afraid to say the wrong thing. Feel the LOVE!

Feel the LOVE!

Arriving at Narcoossee’s, we were seated at the bar until out table was ready. As Mister Disney predicted, the Boss had a Beefeaters and Tonic. Shaking like a palm tree in a hurricane, I ordered a double. The drinks came and we toasted to the wonderful company and the evening ahead of us. Next thing out of the Boss’s mouth, “this needs more tonic water”. WHAT? Who complains about a heavy pour?!?!?!

Are you getting it yet? Do you see who we’re dealing with?

Moments later the tension was broken by the sound of a man’s voice “Good Evening, Folks and Welcome to Narcoossee’s.” It just didn’t have the same tone to it. I whispered to Mister Disney … “we’re not at CiCi’s anymore.”

We turned to find a very handsome man in a crisp blue shirt, dark suit and tie. “I’m Sam Jones, I'm the Area Manager here and I’ll be your host tonight. I hope you’ve had a pleasant wait and will have you seated in a moment.” We started gathering our drinks and Sam was back in a flash. Walking down the ramp we were seated at a quiet table on the interior of the restaurant. Sam introduced our server and we all got settled in.

Just as we started getting our menus from the server, Sam came over and asked if we minded being moved. I closed my eyes in total fear … you know … the same fear one feel in anticipation of that first drop on the Hollywood Tower Hotel ride? What was the Boss going to say or do?
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Sam apologized for the inconvenience, but said he was offering us a table over by the window, one with a view of the Magic Kingdom and the 9 PM Wishes presentation.

Immediately, Mister Disney said, “Thank you, Sam, we’d love that”, preventing the Boss from answering. He then worked the Boss’s wife, reminding her that last year we had to go outside to watch it, but with Sam’s move, we’d be able to see it from the comfort of our table indoors. A sudden peace came over all of us.

Sam helped clear the other table and came back to show us our new table. MAGIC! :wizard: :wizard:

Naturally, we took the seats with our back to the Magic Kingdom, knowing if the Boss was Happy, we’d be Happy.

Thank God poor Richard is deaf as he was standing next to us and he too might have heard the cussing.

If you ever get over to the Red Roof Inn, and you see Richard, make SURE you ask to see inside his hat!

He's got a special surprise in there!

Sam made sure we were all settled, handed us our menus, smiled and turned us back over to our server.

I sucked down the last of my Double, and buried my face in the menu. This was not going to be a fun night. Mister Disney and I couldn't do our usual sharing of food; there'd be no interactions with the staff, especially Sam; there'd be no open discussion about likes or dislikes and most of all NO PICTURES!

IS IT DESSERT YET?
