Narcoossee's, an evening of muscles & tail in front of the boss.

OK ... it's bedtime here in CT!

We'll finish this up tomorrow and then it's onto Mister Disney's Birthday Celebration over at the Yachtsman Steak House ... without the Boss!

:worship: Praise the Food Porn Gods!!! :worship:

I have so missed you boys and your fabulous reviews! :thumbsup2

I must concur that the Surf & Turf at Narcoosee's is one of the very best meals I've eaten at WDW. DH & I enjoyed it so much in March on our first night that we are repeating it on our upcoming June trip...first night again. :cloud9:

I look forward to this delicious tale and finding how it ends. popcorn::

what, no almond crusted cheesecake to end the evening???

blasphemy!

So, being adventurous, I decided to try Key Lime Creme Brulee

WOW, what an interesting twist on a classic....the Key Lime gave just a small hint of a "bite" to the creme brulee. Refreshing too.

Neither the Boss nor his wife ate dessert, but did order some decaf coffee. The do the french press stuff there, I am not much of a coffee drinker so didn't partake.

So we're eating our desserts and drinking coffee, and what happens?

The lights dim at Narcoossee's....

uhm....what is happening????

OMG isn't this dessert just THE BEST!! And I am such a chocolate person, but the almond crusted cheesecake is FANTASTIC!! Joan

uhm....what is happening????

What's Happening?

I'll tell you what's happening ... here we are prisoners to the Boss and his wife, tongue tied and unable to share each others food, let alone company, I'm FINALLY at PEACE with things ... I have Chocolate Almond Gateau and COFFEE in front of me ... and the lights go down. UGH!

I don't care, I don't care, I don't care! I kept repeating to myself. Suddenly the Boss and his wife start wiggling in their chairs. I really wanted to tell them where the restrooms were, when BOOM ... Wishes started!

At first, the wife said let's watch it from here. Then the Boss decided he wanted to see it from outside. Then he changed his minds ... again. Up and down, spinning in their chairs ... two 60-somethings who should be coasting through life at like teenagers with angst. Do they NOT know how to have an enjoyable meal? Do they NOT realize the importance of COFFEE and DESSERT in Life?

Suddenly, the Boss asked for the Check and within minutes we were Off like a Prom Dress. There was no second cup of coffee, no thank yous to Sam, no Good Byes ... They walked like they were going to claim their winning lottery prize.

NOW ... if I were a SPANKING type of person ... after canceling out on the Yachtsman Tuesday Night and his behavior at Narcoossee's Wednesday Night, the Boss would definitely be shouting "Thank you Sir and may I have another."

And to THINK, I felt badly when Mister Disney asked if we should invite them to his Birthday Celebration at the Yachtsman on Thursday and I said NO! After this adventure, there was NO DOUBT in my mind it was the right decision.

Speaking of Wishes ... let's get on to Birthday Wishes for Mister Disney![/SIZE]

Well, after the abrupt way the Boss made us BOLT out of the place, there's no way Sam would ever send a couple of pieces up to CT for us to try!

So where does one begin?

We finished up our apps and out comes the entrees.

My Boss decided to have the Grilled Ahi Tuna - white bean chorizo cake, tomato-fennel ragout and micro basil.

As we all hold our breath....he declares....."it's good"

whew......1st round down....the Boss has decreed that his entree was good!

:worship: ALL HAIL THE DISNEY CHEFS!:worship:

Moving on his lovely Wife ordered the Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - potato gratin and steamed baby broccoli

As we waited for dinner, she was musing about the fact that her first lobsta of 2008 was in Florida and that she had to travel all the way from Coonecticut to Florida to have a Maine Lobster.

Now...we were expecting a 1 1/2 pounder, but out they bring a 2 1/2 pounder~!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

No need for those plastic bibbs, the Cheffs broke the lobester in half and cracked the claws and presented it artistically on the plate!

The Boss' Wife declares this is the best lobster I have had in a long time!

:faint:

The only thing that we notice is that the little tentacle claws under the belly are missing.....hhmmm....someone out back must be suckin on all that sweet goodness!

We're on a roll here....

Here's hoping for a 2 lb lobster when we go in December:thumbsup2

Now...I was a bit concerned said:
TAIL[/B] that is provided is grilled and has a tendancy to be dry.....
OH LORDY NO....this was poached in butter....dripping in the gold essences of sweet creamery butter......

:faint:

Both the filet and the lobster tail were cooked to perfection. As most of you know, I am not typically a tenderloin fan (I go for those fatty flavorful pieces of ribeye!), but must say the filet I had on Wednesday was absolutely hands down one of the most tender flavorful pieces of beef I have had in a long time.

Moving on to the K-Man....he ordered...Grilled Scallops - wild mushroom risotto, fresh peas, crispy pancetta and porcini mushroom broth

This will be the 2nd time in 3 days that we (he) had scallops....being with the Boss, as was explained...there would be NO SHARING OF FOOD! :scared1:

As a result I shall leave it up to Kevin to explain his dish.

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :worship: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

I don't think I've laughed so hard above a food review in my life.

i've never enjoyed a restaurant review so much!!! :rotfl:

Exactly what I was going to say!!!:goodvibes

The both of you write so well and are so entertaining that I would read anything you wrote!! Besides, your both very informative!!:worship:

I've been lurking on your reviews and loving them! Thank you for such detailed descriptions!

Narcoosees is one of my favorite restaurants at WDW. But, something has brought me out of lurkdom, something I must ask...especially since I will be dining at Narcoosees in the near future...grand marnier flight?! Seriously? Do they really have such there? At the time of my previous visit to Narcoosees (a shamefully long two years ago) I had not yet been introduced to the joys of this beverage. We are now well acquainted and I must know if this flight is available there? I know of wine flights, and whiskey flights at WDW, but grand marnier flights? That would be heaven!

Anyway, thanks again for your terrific reviews!

We are not sure about a Grand Marnier Flight at Narcoossee's, but since it is a Signature Restaurant, I would assume they do.

For sure, we know from experience.....

Citricos
Bistro De Paris
Flying Fish

that would be purely for scientific experience you know....

Great to know! Thanks! :goodvibes Flying fish is another restaurant on our list! Once again, loving your reviews!

You guys are too much! :rotfl2: I love this review! We really enjoyed Narcoossee's in Oct., but we did make the mistake of self-park, not realizing it was out in the back 40! Never do that again, that's for sure. But the food was divine, esp. the amond crusted cheesecake. I can't believe you didn't get to stay for Wishes, since it was going on right in front of youi! Crazy!

We DID get to see the finale of Wishes, as the Boss dragged us outside.

Trust me...much nicer to watch Wishes WITHOUT the Boss....

Wishes....the Boss didn't get lost finding Narcoossee's...

Wishes.....the Boss had a Beefeater and tonic BEFORE arriving for dinner....

Wishes.....the Boss asked for a double and didn't complain that his drink needed more tonic....

Wishes....we didn't go to dinner with the Boss

Wishes....

I do not know this boss man you speak of, but I do not like him today. No pictures? The one review I have been chewing my fingernails waiting for and there are no pictures?!?! :scared1:

I would say to spank him, but the thought that he might enjoy it makes me say "no spanking for you!" he should be made to walk the plank, immediately!

Thanks for the verbal review though. It is probably better for my neverending diet to have no pictures anyway. Pictures just make me hungry!

:) Sheli

I'm upset about no pictures as well. :sad1: What kind of guy do you work for that doesn't understand the joy of food porn? ;) And I would of really liked to have seen a picture of the chocolate-almond gateua thing.
