On the day we are going to Animal Kingdom, we were planning on eating at Cape May. But I have heard so many good things about Narcossee's, I was wondering if that would be a better bet. We love seafood and would be willing to lose 2 TS over it if it really is good seafood. Also, we are doing the Deluxe Dining plan, so we will be able to get an appetizer (I know not surf and turf--that's a entree, right)?

What do you all think?

Our family tends to eat early big breakfast, a snack-type lunch (so fries on the snack credits would be ideal) and a big dinner, so the DxDP looks like a good deal for us. I'll have to crunch the numbers later.

Also, what is the price per child for the DxDP, so I can crunch them correctly?

I haven't been to Narcoossee's yet but I do know Flying Fish has excellent seafood since you're willing to use 2 TS, you might want to check them out too!

This is exactly how we used the DxDP, big breakfast, snacks for lunch and then big dinner, it was an excellent deal for us, we got $330+ in value over what we paid for the plan.

A child (ages 3-9) on the DxDP is $19.99 per night of your stay, a great deal if you ask me!

The surf and turf is an entree and yes you get an appetizer on top of the entree. We thought the calamari was excellent, the breading was very good and it was cooked just right. DH liked the surf and turf, the lobster tail was a generous portion and cooked just right. I got the whole lobster, it was cooked perfectly fine. If you want the "whole" lobster you have to say that, but if you want just the claws and tail, that's how they serve it normally.

We really enjoyed the almond crusted cheesecake dessert! It was EXCELLENT!

We like Narcoosee's, the atmosphere and location, think that adds a lot to the meal. If you do a high cost item like the Surf 'n Turf or Lobster, then yes you will get your value from the DDP at Narcoosee's. But if just ordering scallops or fish (which are good, not great) it may not be worth the 2 DDP credits and somewhere like Flying Fish may satisfy your seafood craving. FWIW.

Flying Fish is also 2 TS Credits though.

I strongly dislike Flying Fish.

I love Narcoossee's. Definitely at the top for fave restaurants at WDW and I can say that I've eaten at my fair share of WDW fare.

I usually hate salads and their hearts of romaine salad is to die for, idk why.

But the absolute best thing they're ever offered is the almond-crusted cheesecake! I'm kind of a picky eater and I also hate nuts almost as much as pineapple which is the ultimate detested food for me but that cheesecake may have possibly been the most amazing dessert I have ever eaten in my life!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for Narcoossee's!

If you can hold out long enough try to be there late enough to see Wishes from the deck. If not just take a stroll around the hotel when you're done.

The Mango smoothie is an awesome drink and was included on the DP. We had a wonderful meal and excellent service there last summer. By far the best meal of the trip. We had trouble finishing, so showing up with a big appetite is the right thing to do.

I had the Surf and Turf, but substituted Scallops for Turf, yummy.

ITA!:thumbsup2 You saved me some typing. I also love this salad:
Comice Pear and Endive Salad - candied nuts, maytag blue cheese, walnut-sherry vinaigrette

Here's another vote for Narcoosees or Flying Fish Cafe over Cape May anyday anytime anywhere.

Anyone know of a dress code?

Business casual for Narcoosee's. Nice dark jeans are acceptable also. No tank tops or park casual dress. You do not need to get "dressed up" like you would for Victoria and Albert's.

This was our 1st Disney meal and it was great - I am not a seafood eater and I thoroughly enjoyed my filet - DH had my crab cakes app and his own calamari along with the surf and turf..

One of our 2 best meals all trip. The service was great - the views of the water and MK was all part of the great overall package.
Oh and DH who doesn't like sweets - likes the almond crusted cheesecake

Count me in as another vote for Narcoossee's:thumbsup2

The steamed muscels appetizer is awesome. I have also had the surf and turf a couple times and it was also quite yummy:) As far as dress, I usually wear jeans and a dress shirt or even just a nice polo if we are going to eat at the bar, like we often do....:goodvibes

When we were there, we saw everything from dresses and slacks to shorts, tees and ball caps. Everybody seemed to fit in no matter what they were wearing. There were families that you could tell came in straight from the parks and they didn't look out of place at all.:goodvibes

I definitely vote for Narcoossee's! It is by far our favorite Disney restaurant!!! And I strongly suggest the almond-crusted cheesecake for dessert - you won't be sorry! :)

we love narcoosees - lobster, crabcakes, scallops

but the almond crusted cheesecake....

heaven on a plate!!!!
