Napa Rose cancelling ADRs for the next few weeks

It's not that surprising given that Napa Rose works on a very limited staff to begin with. Unlike most chain restaurants they have specific needs for certain roles , both in the kitchen and otherwise.

Hopefully things work out for everyone.

What a bummer for people witn reservations there. We ate there last month and the place had so many empty tables at prime dinner time on a Friday night. It was sad to see. And it wasn't because people didn't want to eat there. They were turning away walk ups.

Bummer, but I get it, staffing and Omicron. We have a reservation for the 28th, hope that holds. Only reservation I was able to secure for entire trip of places we wanted to go. Glad to know Lunar New Year and Food and Wine will be available when we are there.

The lounge and bar may still be walk up worst case and usually serve their menu if that is something that works for you.

Also I recommend The Cellar in Fullerton for a nice meal if interested. Taking my bf there this weekend as we did Napa Rose for Thanksgiving and kind of want to wait for Chef Counter until it's back to more normal. French restaurant and had the most amazing meal there several months back :)

They are not allowing people to use the lounge space like they used to. It's now just another location for tables. They will also not let you walk up and sit at the bar unless the exact number of seats you need are empty right next to each other. They turned away a party of 2 a few weeks ago, even though there were 2 empty seats at the bar, because the seats were not together and they said parties must stay together at the bar.

If they are cancelling booked reservations due to staffing shortages, they will likely also shut down bar service and will definitely not take any walk ups.

We were talking to the manager when we were there in late October and he was telling us about the difficulties they've had in hiring/keeping kitchen staff. They'll hire somebody and get them all trained and then another person will quit. He said they just don't have enough staff to open up the restaurant to full capacity. (or have bread!)

I'm not surprised though, based on what they say they pay on their job site. My local hole in the wall taco joint was hiring a couple months ago and offering $18-22 to start (for cooks) and at the same time, listings on the Disney job site for cooks started at $15-18 for most of them. And the Disney ones required either culinary school or years on the job, where my local taco joint was willing to start you at $18 with basically no experience.

I scored a reservation this past Monday, for the following night.
Many tables were left empty. Seems to be running at 50% capacity, if that.
Service was very good, but menu is very abbreviated -- there were more options when they first reopened.

We were there Dec 17 and the menu had about twice as many options. This is a very recent paring down.

DD and I ate there at the bar December 3rd. It was wonderful, but as PP said, seemed about half capacity.

DH and I had reservations for Jan. 19th, but dropped them. With much regret we have decided to cancel our trip. We feel like things are just too dicey right now, even though we're both boosted. I don't want to test positive while there and get stuck in CA in isolation before flying back to Seattle-- or worse, having something happen down there to one of us that sends us to the over-stressed hospitals in LA.

We just cancelled a trip for around the same time (Jan 19-25). It was a tough decision - we previously had to cancel a wonderful WDW trip planned for April 2020 and this was going to be our first Disney trip since then. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a bit longer but we'll get back eventually!
