"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you have imagined."
~Henry David Thoreau~

Hi Everyone! :goodvibes

My name is Nan and welcome to my WISH journal! I am 30 years old and am on a journey to live the life I've always wanted - A life where I am healthy, confident, and happy with myself. I have reached the point where I realize that because of my weight and health, I'm blocking myself from pursuing and engaging in the joys of my life. I've literally become stuck on "survival mode".

I have a long way to go to lose the 140 pounds necessary to be at my goal weight, but I'm going to start looking at this a positive journey. This journal is going to be completely honest, with all the ups and downs that come with trying to change a lifestyle. If I'm not honest with myself here at the beginning of my journey, I won't have a comparison to see how far I've come.

So, welcome! I'm going to keep track of my food through WW points, since I'm most familiar with that. I won't be attending WW meetings - I'm doing this all on my own. I welcome comments and encouragement, but be prepared for blunt honesty on my food, exercise, and overall emotional thoughts during the journey. See you around!

Nan

Exercise for 2/22/10:
Walked on treadmill for 20 minutes in the afternoon.

I feel like I had a really good day and definitely did not feel hungry at all. It is a very big challenge for me to eat on a consistent basis and not skip snacks and lunches - but I did it and it helped me stay on track. I was only able to walk for 20 minutes on the treadmill before my knee started to hurt, but I figure that is a good start. I can build on that from here.

So - good day and I've already packed my lunch and snacks for tomorrow. Expect to see much of the same, since that's all I have for groceries at the moment! :)

Good luck! We are around the same weight. But I'm trying to get down to 160. Which is the high end of my healthy weight range. Feel free to come over to the skinny island thread and join in. We just started in the beginning of Feb and we love new members. :)
