with rianna songs

The best way to manage songs on an iPod is to download iTunes. It's free. Once you have that, you can import the music that's already on your computer or from CD's into the iTunes library, then it can be copied onto your iPod or you can set the iPod to automatically sync the entire library.

If you have iTunes installed on the computer, click on the Nano under devices (it may have her name if she's named it). Then you need to sync the playlists to the Nano so the songs are added to the Nano.

I would recommend downloading iTunes. iTunes makes everything work perfectly!

I just went through all of the set up because my mother got an iPhone, and couldn't get her music on it. Once in iTunes, you look under "devices" on the left side list. Click on her ipod, which will then show you what is available to put on the ipod. Across the top, you will see options for music, movies, etc. Just select music and then choose either "sync all music" or "sync select playlists". Then, when you sync it , it will all go on the ipod. I think you can also choose to sync only select artists. Once they are on the ipod, you can choose to play playlists, albums, or artists.

Eventually you will want to create various playlists. To do this, go under "file" and then "create playlist". Then, you can drag any songs to that playlist. Then, you can select certain playlists using the same procedure as mentioned above.

As far as saving in a folder, I know with iTunes, it automatically saves everything in several ways. You can see things by artist or album. Itunes does all the work for you!

Thank you so much! We didnt realize we had to download the itunes-lol!

2nd ?- dd want to buy games for her ipod. If she buys some are there extra charges or anything. example: on facebook theres games you can buy certain object for the games? I just dont want any surprises-lol!

I have not run into any games that require micropayments after purchase. Once you have installed iTunes, you should set up an iTunes account. This will allow you to buy songs and apps. The nice thing is that you can set it up to only use gift cards -- when the money is gone, it's gone. No surprises.

As for setting it up to be the default player for audio files -- it doesn't really matter. All that means is that when you run across an audio file, your computer will automatically open iTunes rather than, say, quicktime or windows media player. If you like using another program for audio files then don't set iTunes to be the default player. It won't affect the functioning of the iPod.

some games are free and some are not. here's some suggestions

1. set up your iTunes account and decide whether or not to tell DD the password. This depends upon if you feel she is responsible enough and you can tell her that she would be responsible for any charges.
2. lock out in game purchases by going to Settings on the iPod, under General then Restrictions. Turn ON restrictions and do not allow in-app purchases. There was a recent article about how kids have charged up several hundred dollars while playing games not realizing it was costing real money, so I would do this on the iPod regardless of what else you do. I did it to mine just to avoid any accidental purchases while playing games. There is a separate pin code to lock this feature.

Well dd will be allowed to buy whatever she wants with her itunes giftcards so I'll have to set up her account for giftcard purchases ONLY. If its her own money she will be more careful-lol! Shes been bugging to buy games. Once she found out games are $4.99 she changed her mind-lol!

Where do I find the free games?

Just search the apps tab for games. You can search by free apps and they will show everything that is free. Most of my dd's games are the free versions, we rarely pay for games for her ipods.

Thank you for the info. I'll let her know.

She has had a $25 itune card since Dec.5th and carefully deciding what she wants to buy so far she has spent $0 -lol!
