Hi - I am really enjoying your trip reports - we will be taking our one and only grandaughter Madison (age 5) on the Wonder - October 7, 2007. Can't wait. Sounds like you had a wonderful cruise.

I have been so busy, I am sorry I have not posted, I will try to get something done tomorrow. I am on my way out the door for a very late Easter Party.
Maddie's Nana, it is kind of fun to have only one grandchild to spoil and watch her face when she met the characters and watched the shows. We all had a great time.
And thanks Michelle, I quickly saw your message about "my island" and will have to take some time to really enjoy the site. I can't wait to show my husband. And I have your bandana!
I did take some pictures of Twiced charmed, I will post them when I get to that section. they are not great, but I am getting better with the camera!

We looked through the Navigator as we ate breakfast this morning. What should we do?
Well first on the agenda Papa and Madison decided they wanted to race in the Mickey 200. This was fun. You are given one potato and one carrot along with 4 wheels and some toothpicks.

The rules were you have to use at least some of both the potato and the carrot. Madison and Papa worked hard and diligently on their car. But there were some ringers in the group. They were winners from a past cruise, who really knew the ins and outs of the Mickey 200. Everyone had to name their race car and Papa and Madison named theirs Mad-Papa! Mad-Papa was in the first heat.

Not the greatest lpicture of Charlie! There was tension in the room…… Mad-Papa was lined up t and ready to go. Charlie lifted the lever and down we go, in first place until our potato, I mean our car fell apart. Disqualified in the first heat! Well we hung around to watch the rest of the race so Madison could get her little pin award and stock our noses in the Navigator to see what was happening next.
Madison thought making flubber sounded like fun. We headed over to Lumiere’s for lunch. Madison liked having lunch at the sit down restaurants because she could get a Mickey bar for lunch too.
After lunch we brought Madison to the Oceaneer’s Lab for her first encounter with flubber! Now here my notes seem to have gone a little fuzzy. What exactly did Nana and Papa do while Madison was making flubber? I’m thinking the fact that it was a sea day I could either have gone shopping or maybe I just shopped. I know we walked for a bit and looked at some of the art we could not afford. Well flubber ended and Madison did not want to go to the Luau, she wanted to swim. We headed up to the room to get her bathing suit and when we got to the kids pool, it was empty?????? Apparently, someone got sick in the pool so they had to drain it completely.
Madison was so upset, but luckily there was ice cream to make her smile. There was also a quick photo meet with Captain Hook!

Tonight was to be formal night and the Golden Mickeys so we (Papa) decided we should go down and try to rest. Papa LOVES taking naps on sea days. The swaying motion just makes him drop of in seconds. Well, unbelievably, we all dropped off in seconds. I woke a couple hours later realizing we only had 45 minutes until dinner. We had to shower, dress and try for pictures.
We got in the shortest line and that was with the Captain and then we hit one more line and got our formal pictures taken. Okay, I won’t keep you in suspense, ALL of our formal pictures came out horrible.

Our formal night dinner was in Animator’s Palate. Our table was so bad. Between poles and waiters stations we had the worse view of the walls imaginable. I was pretty disappointed. I had heard such great things about this room, I was really looking forward to it. Maybe one of the bad things about having the same table number night to night it that, two nights we sat knowing we were missing a lot.
Our show for the evening was the Golden Mickey’s. We went right after dinner for good seats and of course Madison needed to go potty. I took her and when we were coming back they had started the red carpet interviews. Madison was interviewed and of course this was one of her shy moments.

Lots of one word answers. But a few minutes later, as we walked in the theatre, people recognized her and she was really jazzed! The show was wonderful.

Ensign Benson was wonderful and it was just a wonderful night!

When the show was over we started to walk through the shops and OH MY!!, it was gold by the inch night. Madison ordered a necklace with a matching bracelet and “Oh, I think I should buy a necklace for Mommy too!” Well, I found a strand I liked and while the young lady was making mine, Madison found two more she needed. Hold on, Nana is pretty good at spoiling but okay, just one more. I am such a sucker. While the last necklace was being made, Madison found Papa and the Golden Mickeys! Guess who has a Golden Mickey on the mantle?
We headed back to the room where Papa and Madison decided it was time to call room service for cookies and milk!

Madison with ALL the candies!!! Then it was time for bed, tomorrow we are cruising on a real Pirate ship!!!!

I had this chapter written out, I just wasn't able to get to my pictures. My computer swallowed up the cd/dvd drive! I don't know how or why, the service guy just said it had something to do with Vista!!
Tink (Michelle) did you still want the Pirate Bandana? They really weren't anything special, they actually have the same ones in the Oriental Trading catalog. But I did save you one if you want it. Just PM me.

This is the first time Captain Mickey needed to call us. “Big doings going on, time to wake up!!” Madison got quite excited about a message from Mickey, this morning. This was going to be a great day. First off breakfast, so we head up to Topsiders.
We are walking around Deck 4 when we see a pirate ship. Arrggg!

Could this be the ship we will soon be on? We are getting excited, but we have an hour to wait. So Madison wants to play Snow White.

I’ll let you guess what part this is!!
It is finally time to meet to pick up our tickets for our Pirate excursion. We take the tender into town, where we are met by another tender to take us to the Pirate Ship. As I was boarding, one of the Pirates took my hand and I thought he was helping me on the tender, but he was also trying to take my rings off!!
We boarded the Pirate Ship where they proceeded to serve us soft drinks or a rum punch for the adults. It was rather yummy punch for 11:30am! We set sail and the Pirates were speaking just the way you expect Pirates to speak.

About this time we sailed around the Magic and “fired” upon the ship.

The kids loved it. The kids had been invited down to the main to help. Now it was time to teach the kids how to be Pirates, which of course included swabbing the deck.

Madison has the pink and purple bathing suit. A few kids not working up to their full potential were doused with sea water. Madison thoroughly enjoyed herself. It was time for the Pirate Pledge and we then stopped in an area where we invited to swim.

I was very surprised when Madison decided to walk the plank.

The water was wonderful but we were only in it for slightly over a half hour.
All in all, I will say this was quite fun, but it is more fun for families with kids. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it if we went without Madison or if we had teenagers.
This was an all Pirate day. Since this was a short excursion we were able to come back for lunch and then for a nap. Tonight was the Pirate Party and I wanted Madison to enjoy herself.
Next tip: If you get the chance, use the Propeller alarm clock at least one time. I set it to make sure we did not sleep to long and when it goes off, it plays When You Wish Upon a Star. I am kicking myself for not buying one. I am still thinking about it and apparently you cannot buy one off the ship. I thought I found one on Ebay and it turns out it is the older version they took off the ship to be replaced by the ones that play the music.
Okay so we dressed in our Pirate garb and had a fun dinner.

After dinner we head to deck 4 for some pictures with characters.

Then we go to see Twice Charmed. I just loved this show. Here are some pictures, I actually did pretty good with the camera this night, and I just picked a few so you can get an idea of the show.

It is Party time!! Even with a nap, but not a long one, Madison is not a happy camper. She posed for a picture with Nicholas our tablemate

and then danced a bit and then started to melt down. Here is the last picture before meltdown, can’t you just tell she is about to blow??

So Papa takes her back to the room while I hang out, party, take pictures and watch the fireworks.

I completely forget about the dessert buffet and head back to the room. Here I find Papa and Madison enjoying room service and they also had enjoyed the fireworks from the verandah!!

Time for bed, I call Mickey for a wakeup call, Papa and Madison snore and I read some of my book.
Tomorrow we play with the dolphins!!
