we are going in March with 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 children. We were planning on buying 10 day ph/ no exp. We would be using five days and saving the other five days for a later trip.

BUT our next trip the 2 teens would probably not be going, but we were going to get them 10 day tix and then have us use the other five days on another trip. So with the new finger scan thing can this be done????

We will be buying them all at the same time and using them for the first time at the same time, so does this link them and we could use them later??? Or will they only work for the 2 teens????

Please help!! I am sooo confused!!!

MYW tickets are only good for the person that first uses them. That is why you have to do the finger scan, it links your personal biometric finger info to your ticket, thus not allowing another person to use that ticket at another time. That is also why they ask you to sign the ticket as well. With the no/exp, the teens could always use the remaining days on their tickets at any time in the future. Have a great trip. :cool1:

We have some military hoppers that use the finger scans. I've never written names on them, and we just randomly hand them out, so I know I'm not handing everyone the same ticket as a previous trip. We have no problem getting through either. I don't know how well the finger scan really works, but they've never asked for our ID or proof that we're military. Is the point of the finger scan them actually enforcing it or the impression that they are, so people don't want to risk it? I don't know, but I suspect it's both.

To clarify: we bought hoppers and didn't use all the days the first trip. We just moved to FL and have taken quick trips using 1 day of hopper per trip.

I have a 4 day hopper pass that has never been used. Would I have to have my fingers scanned for that? I also have another pass with a couple of days. Don't know who they belonged to. Will that matter?

Effective June 2005, older hopper passes not using biometric finger scans should get finger scans attached upon their next usage.

If you have a bunch of old hoppers not yet used after May of this year, one person can use them all up. There is still the remote* chance you may be asked a question or two about past visits and your answer will have to make sense with the usage already on the ticket.

(*A more than slight chance you will be asked a question or two if you go to Guest Relations to ask questions yourself such as how many days are still on the ticket)

The finger scan thing doesn't work at all, from what I saw in June. My friend has NO fingers, so the CMs would either do their own fingers or have one of her three kids do it. It worked just fine.

If it were me, I would try this when you are there. Use one anothers passes and see what happens. I have read lots of reports that the finger scan doesn't work really.

As for signing the passes, I say do it. When we were there in June, my cousin found a 10 day, Plus features added, No expiration, etc...the whole nine yards...pass. It cost almost $400! Had they signed the pass, they might have been able to find the person.

They tried turning the card in at two of the parks and they were told the same thing at both. They just throw the passes away, as they can't give them to someone, even if they come asking for it....since they don't know if it really belongs to that person. Anyone can come up asking for one and get a pass for free, so they just toss them! I feel so bad for the person that lost that card. My cousin had no business picking it up though in the first place! The owner might have come back to look for it.

?!?

I do suppose the CM can push a button (hidden from view) and the finger scan automatically passes even if no fingers are inserted.

There may be some days when finger scanning is turned off (all finger scan attempts by guests pass) to speed up the lines. Guests are not told when. If your old hopper pass without a finger scan was used on one of those days, its finger scan will be added on some other day. OT: There may be some evenings during extra magic hours when wrist bands are not checked to speed up the lines and then some guests complain about party crashers.

If the true owner had copied down (or photocopied) the letters and codes on the back to show at Guest Relations, the CM would probably have replaced the pass even after throwing out the original an hour ago.

What worked fine was many different people doing the finger scan on ONE card all week long. Which IMO, means that finger scan thing doesn't work.

Nothing complicated about it - one ticket is good for one person. Period. Anything else and you are taking chances - it's up to you if you wish to take the risk or not.
