Would anyone have any idea if I can buy a 10 day MYW ticket for our 7 day trip and any day I want to do more than one park can I just use another day for the ticket?

I don't mind using 2 days off a 10 day if I want to do 2 parks.

just wondering.

Are you sure about that?? I could have swore we did this exact thing last year. We had the MYW basic and used 2 days on one day at 2 different parks and it was no problem. I would ask again. Worse case, you can just upgrade a couple of days to hopper - you don't have to upgrade all 10 days ($$$).

Neither of those options will work. The computers are definitely programmed to deny you entry to a second park if you do not have the PH options. Also, you cannot partially upgrade a ticket to Park Hopper, because the PH option is a flat fee regardless of the length of ticket. It is $45 plus tax for a 2 day MYW or a 10 day. Even if it was a per day (like the No Expire option), Disney still charges for the difference between your original ticket and the full amount of the new ticket as if it had never been used.

I think Disney has spent some time thinking through the options to make sure they get their money. When an additional day is only about $2 and park hopping is $45, they'll make sure you pay the $45 to go to more than one park per day.

If the ticket has undergone some usage, then upgrading costs the difference in gate prices that day between what you had and what you want (each as if purchased new), regardless of how much you paid for what you had.

Yes very very very very sure.

And there is no way to enter two different major parks on the same ticket on the same day (absent some kind of one-time freak computer malfunction) .. without park hopping. The ticket will be denied at the second park as 'Crossover Not Permitted' .. and you'll be directed to either guest relations to purchase the park hopping option or suggested you return to the park you've already been to that day.

Once again - see the link posted in my previous post for details from a CM who works ticketing.

And Seashore is correct.. there is no such thing is 'partial' park hopping upgrades.. it's the same flat fee... Roughly 48$ per ticket.. whether it's a one day ticket or a ten day ticket.

Also, there is no such thing as only adding the no-expire option for the remaining days either. If you started with a 10 day ticket and want to add the no-expire option when there are four days left, you still pay for the no-expire option for the full 10 days that were on the original ticket.

The only time you can visit more than one park on a day, without the PH option is for the "waterparks and more" option. While they are on the same MYW ticket, the waterparks are separate entities from the 4 theme parks. So you can use one of your waterpark days in the AM, and still use one of your base days later that day to go to one theme park, or use a second "option day" to go to Disney Quest the same day as the waterpark.

The no-expiry option is pretty costly, but if you're planning on getting more than one trip on your 10 day pass, well worth the money. We bought 10-day MYW PH, waterparks and more, and non-expiry option. We've used 9 park days over 2 trips, and still have the one park day plus 3 waterparks/Disney Quest still left. :thumbsup2

Disney sure knew how to make the money with the MYW system. But of course they make the customer think that it's the greatest thing because you customize for what YOU want. For those that never knew that old passes used to be parkhoppers that never expired, they would think this is awesome.
