Hello ~ Right now I have enough Air Miles for one adult 7-day MYW ticket. I want to order it now ~ but dh says I should wait. He thinks if Disney changes tickets again before our next trip ~ things will get screwy. What do you all think? S

Hi Sandra,

We are going next April and I cashed in points already for tickets. I look at them really no differently than the days remaining on the old PH's we have - use them how they are originally intended and don't worry about any changes that may happen.

I redeemed ours so early because I believe that they will start increasing the numbers of miles required for everything once they get the ball rolling with the airline increases that are coming soon.

Make sure you get as much info as you can about your tickets first. I plan to use my Aeroplan reward miles to get MYW tickets and upgrade them at the park. Through Aeroplan there are many restrictions: They are valid only for your travel dates and companions, which they tell me are printed on the tickets, and cannot be changed in any way. While our tickets are a bonus, being "free", I don't want to waste the rewards either if there are changes in our trip which is still 4 months away. So we are getting ours very close to when we travel. I'm not familiar with Air Miles rewards ( I never get enough!), but just my two cents after many phone calls to Aeroplan.

Hi ~ dh brought up a good point. It's is 2170 Air Miles for one adult MYW 7 days ticket [just the basic 7-day tickets]. That's $199.00 USF, plus taxes, plus exchange = $250 CDN. If I cash is 2170 Air Miles for Dominion or A&P $20.00 certificates, I can get $310 CDN. That's $60.00 of food! It makes sense [and dollars, heeheehee] to go for the food and just pay for the MYW tickets ~ what do you think? S

Your DH does make a good point - in terms of saving money overall, this makes a great deal of sense.

We like to use some of these rewards programs for "fun stuff" and that as why we use points programs for more non-practical things.

However, $60 is better in your pocket, so go for it.

Check out Ticketmania's prices, especially through Mousesavers newsletter sales. Buy your groceries with your AirMiles & buy your MYW tix at a discount with all that great info you get from these boards!

Not sure if you're flying or driving, but we've been cashing in Air Miles for Best Western stays for our trips for years. We're not the "drive straight through" type of people, so we enjoy staying a couple of nights on the way down & back.

When you work it out, the BW travel cards come out at basically the same as A&P $'s. And, I got a sale (never seen that before!) on the AM site early this summer & already have $400 Cdn in BW cards in my hands that only cost 2,675 AM.

Just my .02 for anyone looking to use AM for their trip!

If Disney changes the ticket system the old tickets will continue to work the same way they used to work with possible improvements that favor you. (Old tickets that did not include Animal kingdom now do.) But the new system may offer yet more benefits that you might not get. (New, post 2004, tickets with the water park option also include Disney Quest but old , similar, Hopper Plus tickets currently do not.)

Hi All;

If you want to make it worth your while get a westjet airmiles m/c from BMO.
Once you are set up you get to redeem via airmiles for 1600 airmiles pp. I had saved enough for 4 full tickets and had to buy about 300 airmiles.
M/C charges $75.00/yr for the card but in 1st yaer you get $75.00 coupon if you book using m/c. Also 1 a/m for $15.00 spent.
