MYW passes - Should I skip the "plus"?

I've been trying to decide on which passes to get and I think I've come to a landing but I thought I'd put it out there to see if others agree.

We'll be at WDW for 8 nights. Based on the itinerary I've put together, I anticipate that we will be in the parks 6 of those days. Our kids are 4 and 6 and we are staying at resorts that have pretty good pools (AKL, Poly). Before WDW came out with the MYW program, I was going to buy 7 day PHP passes.

However, under the MYW program, I am leaning towards getting the MYW base 7-day expiring pass with hopping privileges (about $237 Adult and $189 child). When I thought we were getting PHP passes, I had contemplated that we would go to a water park on one of the days and that I would take my son to Disney Quest just to check it out. But, I now think we can do without either of those things.

I did think about getting a non-expiring 10-day premium pass because we are going on a DCL cruise in August 2006 and would likely spend a day or two at WDW but then I figured that I should just get new passes in 2006.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I think that if your itinerary is set for the main parks, you are right that pluses may not be the way to go. We are also going in March and I am worried that we won't get the plus use out of our passes because of cooler weather.

On the other hand, we are planning to get the 10 day premium, factoring the additional 5 plus visits in (we enjoy water park days just as much as park visits - so they are worth it to us) you can't beat the price! We plan on using these passes over a few visits. I know it seems like an investment now, but how wonderful it will be to make our next trip with our tickets already purchased!

If you went ahead and got the 10 day premium (pluses, non-expiring and hopping) you would be covering all your bases. I know on our last 2 week trip, our itinerary that I had planned for months was a great guideline, but we change it a lot when we were down there to suit our needs, and especially the kids.

See you there!

From the info you've given I'd stick with the 7 day hopper and maybe buy Disneyquest reduced tickets at Mapleleaftickets.com They're only about $22 for adults which is alot cheaper than adding on the plus option. Realistically 7 days in the parks and an afternoon at Disney quest, for the time you're there you'll be exhausted just getting all that done(and you'll need another vacation!!!!) :teeth:

To do any more is just getting complicated and when 2006 arrives you may have decided on something completely different. Keep it as stress free as possible and here's some Pixie dust! :wizard:

We got the 6 day MYW tickets for our upcoming trip, We got the hopper option which I think should be included with the base ticket if your staying in the resorts.. but anyways.. we decided not to get the "plus" option because we only plan on going to PI one night and have no desire to go to DisneyQuest and DH cant swim so .. water parks are out. However from what I understand you can add them at anytime to your ticket and pay the $ depending on how many days you have left.

ok So Im a tad bit excited

If it was me and I knew I was going back I would go for the 10 day. Saves money in the long run and my kids would not consider a trip to Disney without the water parks. They are great even for the ages of your kids.

The cost of the "plus days" is very reasonable if you buy the 10 day premium, non expiring park hopper ticket.

I figured my 5 "plus" days cost me $22.00 ($4.40 each day) which is a steal.

I've read that the admission to these separately would cost approx $30.00 per day.

The 10 day + ticket cost me $362.00 including taxes from a reputable online ticket broker.

We always spend 1 day at a water park when we go down, whether it be for 1 week or 2. Everyone enjoys it and it is a relaxing day!

Good luck with your decision.
