Can I find this info online 'cause I'd really like to use the credits for the adults meals but I'll only do so if it's clearly stated that it's "allowable."

Thanks!

Mady/Sophiemom,

Thanks! I just might reconsider doing this. Sorry, didn't mean to make you upset.

Oh- YOU did not make me upset. I was just trying to let you know Disney's point of view on the matter is. A while back several posted on the DIS, as well as other sites, how people were screwing one over on Disney.

So many people give their expertice on topics, the way they think things should be done rather than by experience.

Go-Have fun!!! I wish I was back. We wanted to reload the suitcases into the van, and head right back to the airport this AM, when we walked into our 56 degree house this morning :cold: Who would've thought we needed the heat on in late April.

Harmony- You might try calling Disney dining, and requesting one. Someone posted it a few months ago on these boards, so you might try doing a google search. Good luck. I wish I had a scanner, and I would try to get a copy to post.

We just returned from our trip (04/22 - 04/30), and we used the MYW Dining Plan...

We had lunch at The Electric Umbrella one day in Epcot; the CM who was ringing us up said, "You know, you don't have to order off the child's menu for your daughter (who is 5). You can order anything you want."

We never ran into less-then-exemplary service from any CM, even after informing them we were using the Dining Plan.

Your credits are pooled into one pool; there was never any differentiation between adult credits and child credits.

All-in-all, we LOVED the plan, although we still had about 8 snacks left unused, as well as about 3 counter service meals unused, when we left yesterday. We were so stuffed from the appetizers and desserts each day, we didn't NEED snacks between meals!

Mady/Sophiemom, nice job. That's exactly how I would have used the plan.

CLEO Z, thanks for reading our website.

I might add that we updated the MYWwDining page on April 27, when Disney added more restaurants to the list (and our list is current, too), and some new snack options. IMHO, I think that Epcot's now a decent choice for the dining plan, and the plan's becoming a better value.

Thanks for the updated info. We are going to try and use it for the Fantasmic dinner package. I've heard that some people were lucky enough to use it and some people weren't. We'll just keep our fingers crossed. Now I can stop worrying about the dining plan and start worrying about the rain that is supposed to come!

The online brochure at http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...gespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/MYWDining.pdf originally had that statement in it. When I went to download the new dining guide with the new restaurants, that statement was taken out. I'm wondering now if adults can use children's credits. :confused3

Mady/Sophiemom ------- Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say it has blown my mind that people somehow think it is cheating to share the credits on the dining plan :confused3 :confused3 !!!! As if Disney is not out to maximize every dollar and somehow by doing this we are putting one over on them. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You can BET they thought about this every which way and they know darn well they are going to make a fortune on it no matter how the plan is used.

Note: Upon check-in all meals from the package are combined into one central account for maximum flexibility. Any guest in the party may use the meals from this central account at any time during their package stay until all the meals are gone.

End Quote.

IMO- and many others- That is how Disney intended it, since that is what they print on their brochure. Also as I stated earlier, all counter service w/ the exception of Tusker House, allowed me to order 4 adult meals. A few even suggested it, when I was ordering kids meals.

Believe me, Disney is not stupid, they have the computer skills to fix, what some say is an unfair to Disney loophole. If they wanted it changed they would change it.

No table service server even blinked an eye when I said I was paying for my kids, and to use the plan towards the adult meals. It would be different if you were trying to pass off an 8 Y.O. as an adult at a table service.

Disney recieved about $4,000 of my money this past week. In return I rec'd an awsome family vacation, but believe me they still made $$. My ordering adult meals for my kids at the counter cost Disney approx. $100-$125, total for the week, retail. Their cost for those meals- prob. $25 at most.

I don't keep my reusable mugs for later stays, nor do I carry the same nasty paper cup to the food court for free refills all week. I don't pool-hop, and don't park at the contemporary, for easy MK access. I will however, use the dining plan the way Disney has instructed me to on their literature.

Just my 2 cents (OK the post went long, so I'll say 4 cents ;) )

wow, i havent come to this forum for a little over a month and i cant believe they added so many lovely restaurants! im so excited! :cool1:

You're correct. I just looked on the old brochure I had saved and they took the following note off the first main page of the brochure:

Note: Upon check-in, all meals from the package are combined into one central account for maximum flexibility. Any Guest in the party may use the meals from this central account at any time during their package stay until all the meals are depleted.

Now - given that this paragraph is no longer in the new brochure, I think it's going to be at the discretion of the CM who takes your order whether or not you can use the child credits for adults. If they start breaking it down to adult & child credits, this might pose a problem for those with children who wanted to use their child credits for adult meals. (While I do not have children yet, I thought it was a nice perk of the plan while it lasted!)

Perhaps this is Disney closing a loophole; unfortunately they do have the disclaimer where locations, components, terms, etc. of the plan can change at any time.

I am extremely glad about the new restaurants recently added and think the plan will be a great option for our trip.

The new brochure still shows no difference between adult and child credits. Theya re lumped together in one pool of credits.

After re-reading it, I agree - my previous post was mainly to note that they removed that specific paragraph. Sorry about that.

Hi. We just returned last night :cool1: and all the meals are lumped into one account and you can use them as you want! The dining plan was awesome!!!

I have a semirelated question.

My son is 12. So we have all adult credits on our plan. Now the issue is that he's a bit of a picky eater. I know that he'll be ok at the steakhouses because he's good with meat and potatoes...but I suspect for counter service stuff he'd rather order from the kids menu. Most of the kids menus I've seen on Allears have shown that they are for kids 11 and under. Would he be allowed to order from them? I figure then I could pay for his from the kids menu, and use the other credits to toss in some breakfast choices for example. :confused3

Makes sense. If you have extras left you may wind up using one for a child's meal your last day. You'll still save money over the course of your trip and it makes more sense to get a bad deal for one meal than try to make you kid eat something he doesn't want to eat.

I have never had any trouble ordering from the kid's menu. I have ordered the kids menu for myself before because I wasn't hungry enough to get a big lunch. Actually, I will probably end up doing that some on my upcoming trip and use the CS meals for a nice breakfast (or get the kids breakfast and have a nice lunch). I'm not sure yet, but we are going to be having some pretty big dinners each night so I need to make sure I'm starving by 6pm each day!

That's exactly what we did. We had two adults, 2 small children. We shared breakfasts on the plan, and then shared lunches on the plan. It worked really well for us!

We did what cocodog did. We let our kids (4 and 5) share meals and that gave us some extras for breakfast. You can also just get an adult meal for your kids to share so that you have more food. But I have to tell you that we had MORE than enough food, even with the sharing!
