I posted earlier about this subject so I thought I would give you my magical ending. After numerous attempts by 3 travel agents and myself I was finally able to keep my room discount and use dining plan. I had initially accepted that I was not going to get the plan but began to hyperventilate when I began adding up the price of all the character dinners that my littles ones wanted to go to. The dining plan is worth if you use it right but still have concerns tha will be too much food for us to eat. So I gave it one last try at WDW reservations -played dumb and just said I wanted to add dining plan. BINGO!! I mentioned to the CM that I had "heard" that some people had difficulty with room discount and dining package. She said "well they have to use a jump code" whatever that means. Hope this info helps somebody else who want to use both room discount and dining plan. Also, I'm going to post on anotherthread bu throw this out this out here to. Began looking at the character dinner buffets and other all you can eat buffets and all seem to look then same. Did anyone else who has eaten numerous buffets during their stay felt like they were eating the same stuff every night?

The buffets are definitely different. For examples, go to Debbie's board menu section and compare the dinner menus for Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey's, the Oktoberfest in Germany, and 1900 Park Fare.

This has been one issue that has been nagging me! If you have to use the rack room rate where is the savings in purchasing the dining plan? I just don't think that is fair! I read somewhere that you have to purchase the room at rack rate. I am very interested in the dining plan. I have a "room" reserved at Fort Wilderness for 2 weeks. I was thinking about making 2 different ressies though so we would not have to have the dining plan for the entire 2 weeks! Too much food and $$! Now I need to figure out how we could still buy our tickets at the SOG (military). I would hate to lose that privilage just to get the dining plan.

Thanks for your post! That is what I have been wondering!!

I would love to do the dining plan, but we will have APs. Did you have to get the MYW tickets in order to add the dining plan, or just the room?

Yes, to get the dining plan it is room and tickets and meals. However, with an AP it may very well be worth the money to get the DDE.

Can someone tell me what a DDE is? :confused3 I guess I'm still a "newbie" on a majority of these things! Just when I thought I had learned it all! :cool1:

Ok, i also got a "room only" discount around november for May and I really need to get the MYW dining plan. WHat do I need to tell the CM on the phone to get this?? They all say you have to have a package, I still haven;t bought tickets hoping to add dining on. PLease, I am new at this and I need help! THanks! Missiowa

What dining is it? The regular one or the premier? I am trying to decide if its worth getting the dining package for my family.

I don't know which board I saw this on, but I believe someone got their tickets with the dining plan with a CM that said all you have to do is use a "jump code"...I have no idea what it is, but that CM knew it.

Based on the info you get from most CM's there may not be many that know about this code. It will probably be a hit or miss just like with most info from these CMs.

Hope that helps. :cool1:

Thank you so much for the info! Please let me know if I understand this right...I can buy myself an AP pass, add on the DDE for an additional $50 and then my family of 4 others and me can get 20% off our food and beverages at the participating restaurants? If I understand it right, that almost seems too good to be true! :cool1:

Can you get the DDE if you get the AP rate on a room too? If so, this trip is going to be much more fun than I thought because I'll have even more savings! :cheer2:

You got it! But be careful WHEN you order your DDE card. It starts from when you buy it, NOT when you activate. I ordered mine a couple days ago, and had them email me confirmation letter since my trip is only 2 weeks away. They told me on the phone that it will expire 4/30/06, but the email letter says it will expire 5/31/06. I'll see, once the card gets here, lol. The confirmation letter expires 4/30/05. Either way, it looks like they are adding a month or 6 wks to when you call and purchase, allowing for shipping time which is VERY slow right now. So wait till a couple of weeks before you leave to call and order.

What type of room discount do you have. Code with PIN, public code, AAA....I understand you can add dining with some discounts but not others. AP is a definite NO since you need park passes.

Thanks Taximomfor4! Since I won't be going until October, I'll still be waiting for the AP codes for awhile for the rooms; however, now knowing about the DDE on top of these codes I'll save a bundle of money on this trip (I just hope they do come out with codes at that time...right now I have a PIN, but not sure how long that will last...guess I should call and find out!). :Pinkbounc

I will probably just go ahead and get AP's for my DH and I both because I plan on surprising him with a trip next June for our 25th wedding anniversary! I was holding out for a trip to Hawaii; however, doesn't look like I will be able to be on a plane for that long anymore...so what's the next best??? WDW of course! Maybe a stay at the Poly??? Never been to anything higher than a mod before and that might be the time to do it. :love2:

Question though...I probably should only get the DDE for the one AP correct?

Aargh!!! I called and tried to tget the MYW dining added with my discount, based on what the Disney web pages stated. After several phone calls (at my expense - one lasting nearly an hour! ) and frankly, clueless CM's - I was told I couldn't add it to my discounted room. So I gave up and ordered an AP with DDE. Sadly, it was too late to get the AP room discount though, which would have made the deal a whole lot sweeter!

Which room discount did you use? Di you have to buy park tickets too?

I called late last night asking for the Dining Plan to be added to my existing AP discounted room. CM was fabulous and tried several times to combine the two but after a conversation with his supervisor, he said that the two could not be combined. I brought up the "jump codes" and he and his supervisor didn't know what those were. He said if I could find out more information on these "jump codes", he'd love to help me.

So, any more information on these "jump codes"? Or any other helpful hints combining the Dining Plan with the AP discount? Perhaps it is only allowed on certain room types?

Any help is appreciated.

The dining plan is a package plan. Room, Park tickets, dining all in one. If you have an ap discount that means you have an ap and don't need tickets=no dining plan.
