Hi

Just booked for July 2007, 21 nights, flying from Manchester to Sanford with MyTravel.

What are their flights like? How much legroom? Do they have seatback TV's? What is their food like?

Any comments, gratefully received.

Thanks

I flew with MyTravel in Sept 2002 so things will have changed but I didnt have seat back T.V's nor much leg room. I thought the food was ok but I like airline food

We flew from Manchester with MyTravel this Summer (and last Christmas) and we always enjoy flying with them. We had seatback TV's, they showed 3 films on the way out. We always like the food served onboard (we prefer it to Virgin's) and the legroom was the usual 'never enough room' :)

I'm flying with them on Saturday
We've been on the same flight before and it's very standard, but we pay the £30 for the emergency exit seats which makes all the difference.

Flown with them twice now. We got seatback TVs both times but when dad flew in 2002 he only came with us for the second week and his outbound flight had no seatback TVs just several big ones.
Food was pretty average, not inedible but not great either. You do have to pay for drinks though.
Legroom was quite poor but it seems to usually be the case on most airlines unless you upgrade which is worth it IMO. We got a free one outbound in 2002 and Premiair Gold was excellent, in 2005 we got the extra legroom seats (front) outbound which was also worth it.
Don't think i'd fly with them again largely because the luggage allowance is quite small (20kg) and if I flew charter again i'd choose TCD cos you can double it for a fairly small flat fee.

WE got back last week, flew with my travel. Apart from the 9 hour delay on the way there the flight was pretty much the same as any economy flight. Had seat back TV's with decent enough films. Not much leg room at all but there never is with any of these type airlines. We were offered the upgrade to premium at the airport but couldn't afford the £90 each before we had even got anywhere. food was reasonable if you like plane food! Exit seats are worth the upgrade fee but they go VERY quickly!

We flew with them last time. Believe their seat pitch is usually 29-30". All was fine, but that is the smallest seat pitch around. B.A is 31" and Virgin Atlantic varies between 30" and 32" (usually 31") Going over, your buzzing anyway, coming back, as long as you get to sleep, it doesn't matter too much. Not worth worrying about. It's done. ENJOY :)

We flew with My Travel the end of this last July, the flight to Sanford wasn't to bad, the meal was ok, like all low budget airlines the space with leg room was tight. We purchased park tickets on the plane for Busch Gardens 2 adults 1 child and was told it would be cheaper than at the park, which was a lie they were cheaper at the park and when we got to the park one of the adult tickets had expired by about 2 years and we had to buy a ticket there and was told we had to get our money back from My Travel so when we returned which was the day after the high alert started we was told we had to send a letter to a address the flight attendant gave us and we still have not heard from them or any money. So do not buy any tickets from My Travel for any parks. Also the food on the way back to the UK was awful, we had to buy any drinks no free water, we usually have our own bottle water to drink that we bring in our carry on, but due to the high alert no liquids to be carried on. We will not use My Travel Again.

flew with them this year premair class and no complaints. we did have a delay going out but these things happen. felt they were good. food no better or worse than any other airline. thought the crew in premair were very attentive , always coming round with free drinks

have booked to fly with them next year.

I am flying with them for the 3rd time on thurs!! :cool1: The previous two times we have had no problems, not even any delays, food was fine, leg room as expected but both times the flight was not full so we had a row of 3 seats for the 2 of us - nice to have a chair to dump all the rubbish, games, books on etc!! Fingers crossed they will be just as good on thurs!!! Cant wait!:sunny:

Hmmm, I know I'm not flying until Aug 16th 2007 with My Travel, but I'm really concerned with delays. I get married on the 17th at 10.00am our flight is due to touch down on the 16th at 13.35. Does anyone know if delays are more frequent with chartered flights? I've only ever flown with Virgin, Continental, Quantus, British Airways and American Airlines so I've never flown with the TA's own, I'm now really worried :scared1:

Delays are possible with any airline, it makes no difference whether they're charter or schedule, delays can happen for any number of reason. The thinking is, is that if your BA or VS plane is unoperational for any reason that these companies have 'backup' aircraft but that 's not always the case, in busy travel times backup aircraft would still take hours to get ready, and once the scheduled take off slot has goen they have to requeue for another take off spot anyway. BA in particular have had enormous amounts of cancellations over the past few weeks (I know, I have a lot of paperwork on my desk!) but First Choice, Airtours, Thomas Cook, Thomson etc have hardly been affected at all.

Well there is an easy explanation for that as you will know. They were ordered to cancel a percentage of their flights. They didn't cancel them because they wanted to.

Hi we flew with them this year ( July / Aug) and were really impressed with them. (Glasgow- Sanford)

We did fly in the premiar part of plane. Going out no delays and we even arrived an hour early. Our return was the thursday when everything was on red alert. My travel kept us very well informed and we received $12 vouchers each. In the end despite all the troubles our delay was only 6 hours ( We had expected the worse).
