Mythos Restaurant?

We have just got back and we would have liked to eat at Mythos for early dinner - park was open until 7pm. However, they were only open for lunch - last seating 3pm - this may be the case also when you travel in October - I would check.

I can attest to the fact that Shannon will definitely try and push the corporate line as far as she can, but ultimately, and changes or decisions are made by three people not directly associated with Mythos-1) The Head Chef in charge of all OU restaurants (good guy, very knowldegable, responsible for most of the success the UO foods division has enjoyed over the last decade), 2) The UO sous chef (pain in the ***, loves to constantly bag others ideas, the opposite of a visionary), 3) the VP in charge of foods (very intelligent from a monetary standpoint, but cost concious to the point that quality/service can suffer. She would also be responsible for Shannon's promotion, so she does have my gratitude for that decision).

So, my point being, Shannon and Mark may have grandiose visions of what can and can't be, but after all is said and done, any changes have to be dissected ad nauseum, then approved. This is why you don't see change more often on UO menus.

I realize they can only go so far. But they are accustomed to the process so i am glad these two are doing the heavy lifting. There is something we all can do, and that is stop by guest services and leave a comment/suggestion card. I have leaft them as my dad, brother, uncle, ect. If we ask for the things that Mark and Shannon are pushing for then some things might happen a bit sooner than going down the normal course of events :smooth:

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mythos! and no trip is complete unless we go there to dine.

You ever wonder why big corp. do stuff like this seems really stupid to me, they should pick a chef they trust and let them run with a budget and stop micro-managing. I would hate to work in an environment where every decision is 2nd and 3rd guessed, in my opinion its not a good way to run an organization. But I still love Mythos, haven't been since last year so have no idea how the recent changes have gone. To me its not just the food, the atmosphere is probably the coolest on the planet. Although from what I've had in the past always great food too.

I've always loved Mythos. We've eaten there five times before, and every timeit was great. You can't go wrong with the Pastabilities or the Risoto of the Day. We also had DELICIOUS wood-planked fundy salmon this past summer. It was some of the best we've had. It truly is the greatest restaurant in any themepark anyhere, and the atmosphere can't be beat.

What month were you there? We ate at Mythos in July & were very disappointed to see the cedar plank salmon that kept us returning to Mythos was replaced by a version that wasn't prepared or served on a cedar plank. It wasn't even close to the caliber we've been accustomed to. I really hope they've gone back to the cedar plank salmon. :thumbsup2

I'm having serious computer problems!!! :badpc: :furious: I was completely out a couple days. :sad2: Then I figured out I can manipulate the power cord & get it to work temporarily. I can be right in the middle of something & poof it's gone. :bitelip: My DH ordered a part to try to fix it. Hopefully, I'll be back DISing full time soon. :surfweb: (Okay, I don't drink coffee. If this goes on much longer, it's going to drive me to drink something.) :teeth:
