Can anybody tell me if Disney has a similar dessert anywhere that is similar to the yummy, fantastic banana, caramel, ice cream concoction that they have at Mythos??

DD16 wants to go to Mythos just for dessert and DH just wants to do Disney on this trip--no outside trips. So to make peace, I'm wondering who would have something comparable. Any thoughts?

If you are talking about the warm gooey chocolate peanut butter banana cake, the closest I've seen anywhere is just plane chocolate lava cake.

Hmmm...I think a lot of the dishes at Mythos are pretty unique so other than some sort of cake, I doubt you'll find anything like the dessert you described at Disney. It sounds heavenly...no doubt.

Ohana has a fabulous bread pudding with bananas fosters sauce & ice cream. The sauce is soooo good I could just drink it. Check the menus out at all ears I think the LTT has a gooey toffee pound cake & ice cream and the Brown Derby has a banana carmel tower. check the menus b/c there may be others. Alright, alright you caught me I'm a dessert aholic,

The banana tower is very good at Brown Derby but the Gooey Choc Banana Cake dessert at Mythos is one of a kind. The tower has like a banana mousse and is good.
Ohana does have a good dessert but the rest of the meal to me is hit or miss and don't know if you can just get dessert.
BUT my favorite banana/chocolate combo dessert at Disney that goes missed alot is the Kona Cafe banana chocolate creme brulee. Its banana flavored brulee with a layer of chocolate at the bottom of the dish. served with a long candied banana slice and large chocolate swirl laid on top.
YUM.......

I just want you to know that I have gained two pounds just reading your post.

I agree about Ohana...it's too noisy to enjoy a good meal and not worth the trouble really. I went last year with a friend who was staying onsite but with all the ADRs being made 20 years in the future there is no way to enjoy a nice sit down meal at Disney for us locals...but that's another issue for another day.
:rolleyes1

sounds wonderful and close! We tried for months to get the recipe for Mythos w/o success. Mythos cake is flourless, too, so those that are gluten intolerant can eat it, too. :goodvibes

I second the Kona Cafe :thumbsup2

In addition to the Banana Chocolate Creme Brulee, they do have a lot of good desserts, which they show you previous to sitting down.

It's not quite 6 a.m. but I am ready for dessert:banana: (banana- get it?)

Just to mention, I understand that if someone wants to just visit Mythos in Universal, they are allowed to for free without paying for a ticket as long as they are just a couple of hours? So if you really wanted to you could pop in to Mythos late morning then leave and go elsewhere.

Yes.. I think if you have a reservation at Mythos you just tell them at the gate. They will call to be sure and they issue you a special pass that is only good for a couple hours. If you don't leave the park in time you will be charged for a full priced park ticket. They used to do this...I don't know if they still do.
