I'm talking about those salon sunless spray-on booths (not the stuff you buy in the store). Has anyone tried these or know someone who has?? I'm looking for honest reviews and feedback as I'm considering this for my brother's wedding.

I need to tan because the dresses are strapless, and I have a farmer's tan (or so my niece would say.... giggling of course). I don't tan well or easy - ie - 7 days in the Carribbean, #4 sunscreen..... white as winter. I've never "tanned", and I'm afraid I'll spend all my time and money for naught.

Any suggestions?

I have done the Mystic tan. It works well but it just doesn't last very long. It works better if you use their before/after care products. Being a red head I was afraid it would turn my skin orange like the rest of the fake tan stuff, but it looked totally normal. Just make sure they maintain their booth. Sometimes when the solution gets low the tan will turn out spotty. Make sure to look yourself over really well before you leave.

Wow, great timing! My dd15 just did the Mystic tanning this past Friday. Apparently, she did not put enough of the cream on her hands/feet because they are horrid looking! Her knuckles are very dark (we are very fair skinned too) and in between her fingers is totally white. She is skinny.........and her spine is one dark streak.......looks like she's bruised! She bawled her head off Saturday morning when she saw herself. For us.................FOR US....this does not look natural. I know others will swear by it. All you can do is give it a try and see how you turn out! I would give it a trial run before the wedding, if there's time. This way you know if you like it or not BEFORE you go out in public.

Good luck!

I would recommend the following before getting a mystic tan:

1) Louffa/Scrub your body down to get rid of dry marks
2) Make sure you have the shower cap on your head right or you may get a line on your forehead
3) Don't wear anything to/from the tanning both you don't want stained.
4). Go with someone if possible, have them wear gloves and help spread the color evenly behind your knees and elbows.

I go to Hollywood Tans and do the regular tanning booth. I find the spray tans look very drastic. If you're going to do it, i'd do a test run a few weeks before the wedding to see if you like it. Then, you can do it again a day or two before the wedding.

I got a Mystic Tan about a week ago right before I left for WDW and I will NEVER do it again. I did everything the girl told me to do - exfoliated right beforehand, bought the "Maintainer" and "Exfoliation" and "Perfection" kits that are supposed to help maximize and maintain your tan, and I was still hideous.
It came with a disgusting smell and I got spots everywhere: especially on my neck and on my knees. I tried to even it out with the spray-on bronzer I bought, but it still looked funny. After I swam with it, I just gave up trying to fix it - the chlorine really messed up the color.
At least the tan was only $8.... Although I did pay three times as much for that stupid "kit"...
