My DD age 10 is not much of a reader but she loves a series of books written by Geronimo Stilton (a mouse) about his sister and friends. Thea Stilton is the title and then the place where the mystery is such as-
Thea Stilton and the Mystery in Paris ( my DD favorite)

What's nice about Nancy Drew is she ages with your child. My DD started to read Nancy Drew when she was 7 years old because we found a series where Nancy was around age 9ish. Now DD is age 9 and she is reading the oldest versions. She LOVES these books.

She also read the American Girl mystery books. These delve into history a bit too, which adds to the learning.

For something different and I know I thoroughly enjoyed when I was young and now DS9 enjoys... any of the Choose Your Own Adventure books. We found Goosebumps that have this type of a set up but I found some actual CYOA sets on Amazon and got one for a 9 year old cousin for Christmas. Anytime people see DS with them they comment on how great they are.

My daugter, 8 really enjoys the sisters 8 series and the candy fairies series.

I loved (and still enjoy) the Babysitter's Club mysteries. Ann M. Martin kept the answers just out of reach enough to make them enjoyable without being frustrating.

My DD is only 6, though, so I have no idea if BSC is even still available

Not sure if this would truly count as mystery, but my DD10 read an Alex Rider book this fall and really liked it.
