mypoints tips?

So I just signed up for mypoints and am looking for any tips about maximizing points. The site seems kind of glitchy -- it kept insisting my (valid) birthdate was not valid, until I finally just refreshed the screen. Also, I watched one of the videos about 30 minutes ago and no point credited -- does that generally take a while? Anything else a new user should know?
