I don't know what thread I was on when i cam across a post about mypoints. I went and registered but couldn't find the pose I was looking at. when I did a search it looked like this board would be the best to post questions.

I have already earned some points plalying around on the site but from what i understand some points take 30 days to post.

What is the best way most people have found to get points. I will hopefully be able to use the barnes and nobles points when I get my daughter her nook for graduation

Just wondering what ways people get points. Is it mostly people who do all their shopping on-line or do people still accumulate points other ways

I notice that some places I use you can get points so even though i am already a registered user I can get points on future purchases

I just need any and all tips that people can give me about using this site

thank you
Monica

I'm a BzzAgent, which is linked to a MyPoints account. BzzAgents sign up for campaigns to try a new product and then "buzz" about it to friends and family through word of mouth or social networks sites such as Facebook.

Through BzzAgent I earn MyPoints when I complete surveys and participate in campaigns.

I get most of my points through shopping online. I make sure to go through the links on the mypoints page just encase something doesn't register... ie I never get my points if i don't go through it for ebay. I think that's how it's set up for some reason, but it drives me nuts! I do the majority of my shopping online, so I get a lot of points this way.

I also make sure to click through all the offers they send me and I at least try to do the surveys. Most of them I do not qualify for but I still get 10 points. It all ads up very quickly. I check it each morning, usually only takes at most 10 min to do.

It takes time to get points to add up, but it's really easy and worth it. Just keep plugging away at it! :goodvibes

I get a lot of points by doing the email click thru's and the surveys but the bulk of my points come from online shopping. I especially prefer the ones that give a set number of points for a purchase as opposed to X pts. per dollar. Those offers can yield the highest pts per dollar in the long run. They had a Starbucks offer a while back that gave you 500 points for a purchase. I bought a $5 GC and sent it to myself. That was 100 pts. per dollar in my account and I kept my $5 (although technically Starbucks is holding on to it for me).

Be sure to click that you are interested in lots of things, when you are first signing up so that you will receive lots of emails. When you get the emails, just click the "button" at the bottom to send you to the site to receive your 5 points. Surveys can earn either 50 or 10 points depending on whether or not you qualify for the survey. I always check mypoints before shopping so I can earn points for my purchases. If you are an online shopper, you can earn lots of points thru Mypoints. Sometimes you get an email offering several thousand points for a purchase (Lancome does this frequently). I have been doing Mypoints for years and I like it a lot. My family recently took a road trip that we used $450 in Marriott cards and $150 in gas cards. I had earned all these from Mypoints. That was a great feeling!

would you mind telling me exactly how you link them up? I'd love to try it.

It's been so long, I can't remember. I think a couple of years ago, they changed the way they (BzzAgent) did a lot of things and started offering MyPoints as a reward for surveys and campaign participation. I might have signed up for MyPoints through BzzAgent, but I can't remember for sure.

I think that if you sign up for BzzAgent, there might be an option to provide your existing MyPoints account info so they can credit it directly, but I don't know for sure. You can always email them for help!

Most of my points are accumulated through email click-throughs (five points each). All of my online shopping is done through mypoints. There are items that I have to purchase anyway, such as contact lenses and dog medicine, so I make sure I get these through my points. I try to combine these offers with free shipping. Now that gas is so costly, I am going to be shopping online even more. I am also a fan of Restaurant.com and those certificates are available through mypoints.
