Now that WDW has had MyMagic+ in different variations for a while how long do you think it will be until DLR sees it. I saw a post from Micechat today that it is being planned to go to DLR but is on hold until of course they figure out all the problems with it in Florida. If and when DLR to get MyMagic+ how do you think that would affect the resort and would their version of MyMagic+ be different from WDW. I know DLR is a high locals park and I feel like their FP+ would probably be different in the fact that there would be no tiering and that you would make only get a week prior in advanced to book FP because they are so heavily on locals and not destination travelers like WDW. Just thought anyone else have any ideas?

I assume the Disneyland Resort will get PastPass+... unfortunately. The Disney Park & Resorts business segment paid a fortune to develop PastPass+, and they'll try to justify the cost by foisting it on the Disneyland Resort too.

PastPass+ is fine for the überplanners of Walt Disney World. It's really doesn't seem to be a good match for the way that either locals or visitors approach the two parks in Anaheim.

Keep in mind Disneyland guests tend not to bother with dining ADRs. Regular FASTPASS works just fine for a few highly popular attractions in each park (primarily just the thrill rides). Even Toy Story Midway Mania doesn't have it.

I agree. After reading mice chat post today It said they were supposed to get the system. Now the question is will they still get it and what will there system be because those parks are so different.

Man I hope not. We have already given up on WDW... FP+ at DLR would continue to be a deal breaker for us. (yes, we tried it, even in a low period did not like it).

I would have to think that FP+ would be different from WDW because of how DLR operates and its business is heavy on locals.

MM+ seems to have been designed with WDW in mind and does not appear to be needed at all at DLR. Both DLR parks have lots of attractions so there is no need for ride rationing, and the 3 onsite hotels already have very high occupancy rates. If there indeed is a small increase in guest spending due to the bands I would think it'd be outweighed by the negative goodwill created by them. DLR locals are not ones to be taken lightly. When DCA disastrously opened not only did the locals stay away, but it was even blasted on an episode of the Simpsons.

I know micechat doesn't have the best reputation but they said that it was supposed to go there. Now it's supposedly on hold indefinitely. I'm sure disney has looked at it and I think in order for it to go to DLR it would need to be a different version. For example not every attraction in DLR is FP+ so I don't think you limit to only 3. Next I don't think you let DLR visitors book 60 days in advance maybe 7-10 days but not 60, because they have so many locals and APs. I do think they could do magic bands for everything tho, room key, park ticket, credit card, and FPs. I doubt we will see it any time soon but it is likely we may see it down the road.

I'm sure Disney wants MM+ to go there, but that doesn't mean the locals will accept it. As I said before DL's guests have a lot more power than WDW's guests do, and if Disney messes up the local media outlets are not afraid to embarrass them. When things go bad at WDW they tend to get swept under the rug. When they go bad in Anaheim they become the subject of jokes on late night TV.

Oh gosh. Please don't say this so my DH will hear. We escape to DL to avoid the MB/FP+ mess at WDW.

He can't forgive them for Lights of Winter, or taking out One Solitary Life from Candelight Processional, or pissing off Rita Moreno so she hasn't returned to narrate (the year after she said "they will be bringing me in a stretcher and I'll still be back for this".). <a very teeny part of the list.

......and he's a 34 year CASTMEMBER!

I know DLR is very driven by the locals much different from WDW, I was just starting a discussion on something I saw. I didn't think it would be going there any time soon anyways.

The MiceAge Update series at MiceChat has a very good reputation, earned over a period of more than a decade. While other rumor sites repeat whatever rumors, conjecture, and embellishments are making the rounds, MiceAge has cultivated sources who work within various parts of Disney, but apparently primarily in Team Disney Anaheim.

well from what I've seen from people on here not many like them or their rumors.

Perhaps that's because many of the "rumors" on MiceAge deal with more mundane subjects, such as internal plans to deal with Disneyland Resort crowds or adjustments to things that drive costs, rather than "cool news" about an all-villains park at WDW or about Night Kingdom or about Disneyland Texas.

The difference, of course, is that MiceAge provides a genuine "fly on the wall" look at internal Disneyland Resort planning, while other rumormongers are passing off hourly cast member water cooler conversations and their own conjecture as "news."

It depends on what kind of rumor that are reporting on. For example if all held true then the Monster Inc. coaster should be under construction right now at DCA. Also Star Wars land should be well into construction at this point. I wont say they haven't been on the money quite a few times, but they certainly don't have a spotless record for honest to God rumors.

will according to them all 60th anniversary things are on hold in Disneyland, and the Star Wars projects for Disneyland and WDW are also on hold indefinitely all due to the costs of mymagic+.

True, but they have recently reported(recently as this past Tuesday) that the refurb of all Fantasyland dark rides is back on. They also said the little mermaid ride at DCA is being refurbished to have a new Ursula ending scene. To be honest I have always thought they were weird when it came to reporting rumors. They would insist things were happening until the date it was going to happen takes place. Then when nothing happens it was cancelled or delayed for some reason. Not saying the projects weren't on hold because of Mymagic+ just sayin it is a little odd.

Based on MiceAge's track record, I don't doubt for a minute that there are still-unfunded plans for a Monsters Inc. redo of the north part of Hollywood Land at DCA or a greater presence for Star Wars at Disneyland. And I don't doubt that managers at TDA had the understanding that such improvements would be funded in the 2014 fiscal year, but that didn't happen.

MiceAge gets big kudos from me for how they described the competing plans to fix DCA and how they wrote about the $1.1 billion DCA redo well before it was announced.

Again, most things are more mundane. But I don't think it's fair to brush off MiceAge as lacking a good record. Just because something is in the planning stage at WDI or TDA does not mean it's guaranteed to happen. The issue is whether to believe that the something is really in the planning stage or whether it's just speculation by fans. In the case of MiceAge, I consider their credibility to be very high (and, in general, I tend to be a skeptic).

Oh I think they have a good track record when you think about all the other sites out there that spread nothing but false rumors. I am just saying that there are times when you have to wonder on weather or not they maybe add something that isn't really happening to give a sense of false hope. I don't think the things they said were false so to speak. I just found it weird that once people realized things were getting built like MiceAge said they came out with the story of EVERYTHING being cancelled. Which could easily be true since Mymagic+ has ran over budget.

that I agree with and I did see that recent post about the refurbishments they also talked about maybe bringing over the parade from Hong Kong or the MSEP from WDW.
