We went to DL today mainly for holiday photos and to see the Christmas decorations... when we entered the park about 10:45 AM there was a sign that Myley Cyrus was filming for the Disneyland Holiday Christmas parade starting at 10 AM ..:cheer2: :yay: :cool1: went my 9 year old daughter...... off we went to the castle to see if we could get any sighting of her.... well we were in luck... yes there were a ton of people but we were able to catch her singing the song 'All I Want For Christmas' several times.... I took some photos on a high resolution and then cropped them and they actually turned out grreat! The only problem is I don't know how to reduce the resolution to post on the DISBoards... if someone can talk me through that I will post here..... They are currently 1MB X 1MB! I know way to big for here...
Overall all it was fun to see, glad we took time out of our day to watch the filmng, but to many rude people who placed their kids on their shoulders so others behind could not see anything (and some of these kids were babies and others were at least 10 years plus!)
We still had time to visit both parks and take lots of photos...didn't ride much but that's ok for today....

Here are some photos too! .....

How FUN! My kids are both HUGE Hanna Montana fans (and they are only 4 and 22 months :lmao: )

I hope you figure out how to put pics up!

Have you tried downloading them into photobucket.com?

If you upload at imageshack, there's an option for you to resize them. :)

UGH. I'm so mad I didn't go today! Plans fell through at the last minute...

how very cool that must have been for your dd. My dd would have not wanted to leave! she is a huge fan as well.

I was there, too! I'm so glad you were able to make it this time! :cloud9:
Today was a LOT crazier than it was at the tapings last week, but it was a lot of fun and totally worth it. I'm with you about the kids on the parent's shoulders. On one hand, I understand that it's really about the kids and they should get to see it. But on the other hand, when a 10 year old is literally STANDING on her dad's shoulders - that's where it gets ridiculous. To be honest, it looked silly out in the crowd - I was surprised a CM didn't have her get down because of 1) safety and 2) it wouldn't look good on camera. JMHO.

What's with some people? This happened to us during the fireworks last Friday. A family squeezed in front of us at the very last minute and as soon as the show began he put his daughter up on his shoulders completely blocking my son's view. We had been standing there for about an hour and I guess DS was a bit grumpy  at that point because he very loudly said..."and then there's those people who are so rude that they wait til' the very last minute to squeeze right in front of others and put their kids on their shoulders so those behind them can't see a thing. Haven't they ever heard of holding their kids in their arms?"

The man didn't remove his daughter from his shoulder, but he did move over to the right so my son could see...but that just blocked the view of someone else.

Some people are so rude! Sometimes I just really can't even stand to visit the park. I understand that kids are excited to be there, but it's as if their manners fly right out the window the second they hand over their ticket.

And obviously the families aren't any better.

I've had that happen at fantasmic- a HUGE family actually PUSHED people out of the way. I was seething.

That's why we just rode the train during the lighting ceremony last week. We had already had one confrontation at the ticket-taking line:sad1:

It doesn't feel so "magical" when people are so hard-pressed to see the star, or get into the park that they become discourteous!!:headache:

Yesterday was chaos b/c of that! I went at opening and did Space, Buzz, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates and went to DCA by 9:00 for the rest of the day. I decided to go back at 6:10 to catch the 6:30 parade and couldn't believe how long the line was to get back in that late in the day - especially with the park already so packed.

DD and I saw her too! I had no idea she was going to be there, it was a total unexpected surprise! My DD was absolutely thrilled, she kept saying, 'I can't believe I'm really seeing Miley!' We watched her sing twice and then we had to leave to make it over to Blue Bayou for lunch. I videotaped it, not sure how well it turned out, but at least we had a decent view for seeing her live!

We did not see her, but, because she was there, fantasyland rides had NO LINES. We could not believe it! We had no idea she was there until I came and checked the boards that night. It was a pleasant surprise for us, because we did all the rides in FL with no lines on a trip we expected to do almost no rides due to crowds.

Oh, my 4 year old would have LOVED this! I would have like to have been there last week when Jennie Garth was there!

That's how it was on Saturday, the 10th, when Josh Groben was there. The rest of the park was just moderately crowded...15 minute wait for rides.

Finally I learned how to resize a photo......
here is the best I resized....

We waited in line for the 2 hours and got a decent spot right behind the cameraman (John's) pathway which actually turned out to be a good spot at which to view.

I also got some good video (I hope) I will have to edit it and maybe I will post....

This particular taping will air Christmas Day on ABC, I don't know what time yet but you should be able to catch it I'm sure they will advertise for this.
I don't think Miley will be the only act to perform on this Christmas special.

Oh wow, Dave, you got some great pictures! We heard there was a line in Frontierland but we didn't want to wait in it because the guy who told us about the line said that if we went over by the King Triton statue in the water we would still be able to see and hear pretty well, and he was right! It was definitely further away than what you got, much further away, and it was more of a side view, but it was still a decent view, DD was thrilled. I watched the videotape and with the zoom on it looks really good! I didn't even bother taking pictures because I knew they wouldn't turn out from where I was with my camera.

We had no idea Miley was going to be there and waited the 2 plus hours in line so my 11 yr. old DS could see the show. My DH took my 2 yr. old DD on MANY rides while we waited. He said the rest of the park was not crowded.

My DS learned alot about t.v. that day......

she sang the same song more then once!
filming takes a long time!
when they film the audience the star is not there!:lmao:

I called home and left a recording of Miley performing on our answering machine! I'm sure he will play it for his friends. We were right behind the break in the center crowd and had a great time. ;)
