My Wonderful Stay at Cabana Bay

Great pics, nerdboy! What floor did you stay on in Castaway? I wonder if we were there at the same time.

I requested first floor when we got there, then realized we were behind the cabanas with NO view whatsoever. So we switched to top floor, right in the middle. Great view! :thumbsup2

We would not have enjoyed it as much if we hadn't paid the little bit extra for poolside. We all enjoyed the music & looking out there and seeing what was going on. Love the atmosphere!

I was on the 4th floor on 1421. Poolside wasn't available for both nights when I booked and I didn't want to switch rooms so I stayed with standard. I didn't mind it at all. I honestly loved being able to peek left and see Dudley Do-Rights and the other rides from so close. But next time I'll try poolside.

Quick question and it may have been addressed and I just missed it. On the all day use cups, are they for just one day or can they be used over your entire stay. even if you have to pay an extra fee? Also, can't remember if there are fridges.

I guess the biggest question, how bad was it not having unlimited Front of the Line? That's a big plus to us with the other resorts there. And how long did it take you to reach the parks and what transportation did you use?

I posted this in the "New Hotel" sticky thread. I think more people are looking here now.

There was a small fridge in the room, yes.

As far as FOTL, it honestly depends what time of year you go as wait times vary every day. I'm probably going to try a split stay next so I can enjoy the amenities of this hotel.

As for the transportation, there was never a wait for the bus so it was just a matter of walking the bus stop and the few minutes it took to get the stop in CityWalk. Then it's up the escalator and to the parks.

Thanks for this post. I just booked for november and I can't wait.

I was wondering if guests staying at Cabana Bay were allowed to swim in other resorts pool? (In the 3 other resorts, you are allowed).

Thanks in advance.

Did I read wrong or is there no luggage bellman services? Anyone know?

After a few calls i have been told no bellman but they will store luggage.

I don't rent a car and arrive early so this was an issue as to where i would store my luggage if my room isn't ready.

Ha, small world. We were in 1422! :thumbsup2

...Honestly, what are the odds of that...?

Nice pics Nerd! :thumbsup2
My son is never gonna let me avoid a trip over there to bowl...even if we are at HRH or RPR. With his condition, it's unlikely we'll be able to stay at Cabana, but we sure want to go check it out!

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I made the mistake once over at Disney at one of their rooms. To make a long story short...there was a family and the dad would snore so loudly that I thought he was actually in the room with me and my family. Going forward, I made sure to request a non-connecting room. Not even caring if we have to wait. My daughter doesn't mind. She has much to learn. Lol.

I am going to be at Cabana Bay next week can anyone tell me about the lazy river pool area. Where do you get the rafts, how much are they, are they inflated when you get them, can you bring your own and if so what kind.

You can buy them right at the entrance to the lazy river and note, they do not take cash, only room charges or credit card. Prices vary based on what you are buying.... $8-$12. They inflate them for you. Yes, you can bring your own. I saw noodles and other tubes not purchased from the hotel. Note, the lazy river opens at 8 am, but you can't buy a tube before 10am. I don't know what time they stop sales, but river is open until 10 pm.

I bought the big one and was glad I did. I did manage to let the air out, that was tricky because air only exits one port not both, and brought mine home in my suitcase. The big one, while an ugly tire design, is a nice tube. A lot of people buy the smaller one at $8 and that's fine for kids and some adults. But tall adults or overweight ones might not be comfortable in the smaller one. They also had a couple smaller options for the baby/toddler sixpence.

Definitely at least 3 feet deep, but I think less than 4 feet.

We didn't bother with tubes. We swam around. The water was never over our heads.
