My wife laughed at me ...

because I bought a Star Wars t-shirt at Target.

Wear it with pride, the Star Wars brand is going to be around for awhile. Especially with the announcement that all 6 movies are being re-done in 3D.

When I told some co-workers about my wife being pregnant (5 years ago) one of the women who I am good friends with came in with a gift. It was a navy blue t-shrit with SECURITY written across the front in big letters....on the back was the company's name....TROJAN. I thought it was pretty funny. Now 5 years later, I am glad I wasn't a customer of that company at the time!

lol, no worries, OP. you're far from alone. DH buys a new star wars t-shirt every time we go to DHS. the most recent one has chewbacca on it and says "when all else fails, send in the wookie!". he's gotten lots of laughs and compliments from it.

I bought a Goonies t-shirt a few weeks ago. That movie is from my childhood and I don't think it's as appreciated as it should be these days. I've got to represent the '80s!!!!:thumbsup2

We have that one in the closet for DS15. It's one of his Christmas presents this year. Last year he got a copy of the movie.

Star Wars rocks. DFi and I are thinking of putting some Star Wars touches into our wedding...like our recessional after the ceremony; we'd like the Imperial March to be played. One really far out idea that we have is to name the tables after Star Wars planets..."Where are you sitting?" "Um, Tattooine..." "Seems that I'm at Alderaan..."

I'm also writing a paper on ancient Greece for my western civ. class...since they're both masters of the epic saga, I'm trying to compare Homer to George Lucas :teeth:

Subtlety is good. I think I'd use a different theme than the Imperial March, unless the impression that you want to give your guests as you walk past them is one of approaching evil. ;)
(Seriously, have you considered the Luke and Leia theme? It's a lovely piece; not as iconic, but the people who matter will still recognize it.)

I know a good divorce attorney...

OP I feel you. My DH laughed at me a few years ago when I got excited that they were releasing Star Wars stamps. He STILL mentions it to this day!

I still have some :)

We used the Imperial March when the wedding party was being introduced at the reception. (It was one of the very few things where I pretty much put my foot down - actually, the only other things I can recall was my adamant refusal to order any invitation from a catalog that had a "Dear bride-to-be, We at [Company] want to make your day as perfect as you deserve" letter. That, and I walked away from a couple of vendors that would ignore my questions until DW asked them, then address the answer to her.)

FWIW, I have several Star Wars shirts (if, by "several", you mean, "more than six, but less than twelve"), as well as some Spidey shirts, and some other geeky ones. Plus Mickeywear, of course. (The best shirts, IMO, are the ones that combine Disney and Star Wars.)

I like the planet name tables.

We seriously considered the Imperial March while MIL was being seated...everyone but MIL would have gotten it... Decided to not do it, to be gracious (little as she deserved it)...still giggle about the concept of it.

We had the Indy theme as our recessional though! Not Star Wars, but still GL and Harrison of course. :)

It's amazing how the vendors feel that's acceptable, isn't it? I mean, sure, in MANY cases they are getting it correct, but would it be so hard to be inclusive? Doesn't hurt the bride any, and can make the groom very happy. And yeah, the people that only addressed me...that was bad. Especially b/c I was creating the big poofy wedding for my groom to be! HE was the one that wanted it; I wanted a red gown and Vegas!
