My wife is pregnant, what rides

Will she be able to ride? She is due the last week of May and first week of June. We were gonna go march 19-25. So that will put her at 7 months pregnant. This was unexpected since she had her tubes tied 3 years ago(I'm still in shock). She just lost her father 3 weeks ago due to a tragic motorcycle accident. So in a way we think it's a gift from him. Just want to know what she can and can't ride from someone who has experienced disney this far along? Is it even worth it to go or should we cancel our trip?

I was newly pregnant on one trip and I still enjoyed it. I didn't do the E ticket rides but that was OK. There were plenty of other rides I went on.

Sorry about your loss and congrats on the baby. I hope I didn't jinx myself as I am 10 1/2 yrs post tubal!

You can go to Disney's website and get information on each ride and its restrictions. There is still a lot of things to do, even with 'thrill' rides off the schedule.

General rule -- If a baby can ride it, a pregnant woman can ride it. The only ride I was kind of sketchy on was Safari. I rode it, but then wished I didn't because I was pretty crampy the rest of the day.

And can I say that your story frightens me - I had my tubes tied in Jan 2015, so they better stay that way!!!

I went to DisneyLAND at 27 weeks pregnant, just took a lot of breaks and didn't go on any of the "thrill"ish rides. There was still lots to do, just no coasters. DD1 wanted to go up and down Tarzan's treehouse TWICE while DH was on the Indiana Jones ride, which was probably the hardest thing I had to do. (ETA, I had no problem on Pirates of the Caribbean at 27 weeks.) When I went to WDW at 9 weeks pregnant, I rode everything.

Mousemommy1 is right, if a baby can ride, your wife should be fine.

Thanks everyone for your input. I just want the baby to get here healthy and don't want to jeopardize him/her. She knows not to ride the thrill rides. I guess she was wanting to know on the rides with little dips in them, new frozen ride, pirates etc.

And yes this was a very unexpected. Don't get me wrong I love babies but I was happy with the 2 girls I have now and didn't plan on another one. Now if I have another little girl I'm definitely in trouble. Outnumbered 4-1. So I think I'll take it upon myself to go get a vasectomy.

Congrats. Your story sounds familiar. I just found out I'm pregnant with our third (we have two little girls 2,6). I didn't have my tubes tied, but I was on birth control. Also, my husband's grandfather passed away a week before we found out I was pregnant. We are also in shock.

I wanted to weigh in on your question. I went to Disney when I was 30 weeks pregnant with our first so in the 7th month. I was able to experience most attractions. I thought the trip was worth it. There are a few attractions she won't be able to do...mostly headliners. There are still lots of attractions she will be able to do. The only park I felt as if I couldn't do much was AK. While there is stuff to do, the larger attractions are off limits. I did ride the Safari (there is a restriction not to ride while pregnant, but I thought I've been on this 100 times and it is just a truck - it isn't that bad). The actual ride wasn't bad, but I wouldn't ride it that far along again. I did have some cramping the rest of the day. I felt as if there was plenty to do everywhere else. Pirates and the New Frozen ride are fine as is Soarin.

Lol this is your fault! Should have manned up for the V the first time! DH was happy to volunteer for the procedure after we became pregnant unexpectedly with #4 and 5, but my OB convinced me to get a tubal instead because I needed a c/s. Not fair, and the pain and discomfort was on me!

Lol. I know I should have but there was only like a 2% chance of this happening. I'm not complaining, we consider this an act of God. Took her father and gave us a life. I will love this one just like I do my other 2 and after a few days of getting over the shock I'm getting more excited about it. There's a plan for all of us and you just have to roll with the punches that come our way.

And thank you everyone for all the feedback

I am in a similar boat: 20 weeks pregnant with my 5th, our 7th in our blended family. We pursued many rounds of fertility treatment to have our daughter, now 1 and were told we were both infertile, and given a 1-2% chance of success. Our IVF experience was a disaster but somehow one lowly egg became our daughter (and if you know anything about IVF odds, we were exceptionally fortunate). Two years older, now 44, I became pregnant without medical assistance, after a year of peri-menopause symptoms! We were shocked! The two pregnancies have been close together which has been interesting financially.

As for the OP's concern about rides I would go with the Disney guide. Rides like Pirates are not jarring, and a little dip shouldn't cause concern, unless her belly is big enough that contact with the lap bars would be a concern. I'd be concerned about strong vibration, jarring movements like on roller coasters, or things that will cause big bumps.

Congrats. Sometimes miracles happen...they might shock us, but they happen.
