My Wedding/Honeymoon Planning Thread is Bonkers but All the Best Ones Are!UPDATE 5/31

Sounds good so far!

I have always wanted to stay onsite too................I am sure I will get to do it one day!

Looking forwrd to more:)

I think it will be so neat to stay onsite! I hope you get to also someday! I will be catching up on yours here too, I see you are finally finished! Now to get past the next 6 months so your next trip can finally be here! :)

We have stayed in the DLH a few times. I love the upper levels to me even a parking lot view is fun. I think it is because of where I am when I stay there.

Yeah that definitely helps! I really loved the DLH but I love the beach feel of the PPH and the view of the theme park from that room at the GCH is just amazing! But I agree I just love being there, the hotel doesn't matter tooo much.

Great update:thumbsup2

I had to do a double take when I saw the haunted Mansion as it has been so long since I have seen it without the holiday overlay! I love it either way......it always has and will remain my favourite. And I don't think too many people at all notice the weather vane!

We are also looking forward to The Little Mermaid as it wasn't completed last time we were there.

And yes, finally finished the trip report and have in fact started a PTR! Should be lots of fun to count down with everyone

Will keep my eyes peeled for the next instalment:)

Thanks! Just a little FYI I just found out, if you click on User CP at the top you will see threads you are "subscribed" to and when there's a new post on one of them it will show up. Just wanted to share because that sure made me excited when I found that out! :thumbsup2

I remember the first time my DF saw the HM without the overlay. We had already been a few times by then and it was so cool to show him something he hadn't seen before. I love the overlay but I like the original a lot better.

I'll be posting again very soon!

Ok when I left off last we were chowing down a yummy ice cream sundae over in NOS. After we were done we decided to head over to Tomorrowland to use our FP's for Space! After that, we decided to relax a bit and ride the train.

DSCN0846.jpg

First stop, the Grand Canyon.
DSCN0848.jpg

DSCN0849.jpg

"But it wasn't always that way..."

DSCN0850.jpg

And then the Main Street Station

DSCN0872-1.jpg

DSCN0873.jpg

After we got to the NOS station we were bored of the train and decided to get off. :lmao: We squeezed through the massive crowd that was Critter Country to get FP's for Splash Mountain. There was a long line, and I heard quite a few people say something about how it was the line for the ride. Woops!

A cute little well outside Splash.
DSCN0851.jpg

I snapped a pic while we made our way out of that mess, FP's in hand.
DSCN0852.jpg

We decided to make our way back out of DL and go back to DCA. We had a few FP's to use and anything at DL was packed, it was about 3 by this time.
DSCN0853.jpg

I was headed for TOT to see if I could convince DF to ride it with me. Unfortunately, he refused. :( So I snapped two pics.

DSCN0854.jpg

DSCN0855.jpg

There was something going on past Aladdin so we couldn't go check anything out that way, so we just went back through Bugsland.

DSCN0856.jpg

DSCN0857.jpg

DSCN0858.jpg

We've never seen the show, It's Tough to be a Bug, so we decided to walk on in and check it out! Well I did, DF had no idea there was even a show here. :)

DSCN0859-1.jpg

DSCN0860-1.jpg

---The show was GREAT! We both loved it! We are not usually show-catchers, so this was our first indoor show, and we've only seen 2 fireworks shows (Holloween and R...DCT (haha check out THAT acronym :thumbsup2:lmao:) and F! but nothing else. This definitely showed both of us that we really need to start checking out the shows more often. We want to see WOC -that's been more of a time restraint type thing, but we'll see it on our honeymoon- Aladdin, Tiki Room, more fireworks, parades, ect. Disney shows are definitely worth skipping out a few rides to watch. If you haven't seen It's Tough to be a Bug, you have to see it (although it can be scary for youngsters).---

Anyway, next we went to the Blue Cellar to check out some of the new ideas, and got a little bit of a better view of how the Carsland Construction is coming along.

Well... photobucket is refusing to work any longer so I'll end this here for now! Thanks for reading!

Well it's about time I wrap this Disneyland TR up, but first I have a little update for all of you! In case you missed it on my newly updated first post I just wanted to let you guys know that DF and I have decided to venture to a new land for our honeymoon, and we are going to Disney's Aulani Resort in Hawaii!! We just felt like we've been there so many times that there's not much we can do to make this trip stick out and feel like a honeymoon, so we priced out Aulani and it's within our budget and we are like 123784783 times more excited! So anyone know where that TR should be posted? I've looked but I haven't seen a section designated for Aulani yet, except for in the DVC thread but I'm not sure if that's where I should post it. Anyway... on to the Trip Report!

So when I last left off we were heading in to the Blue Sky Cellar. I love this building! It's so fun to look at all of the plans and little models of the new rides. I first went in there when the Little Mermaid ride was being built and got to saw how it was going to work, and now I got to see Carsland.

DSCN0863.jpg

pretty neat huh?

DSCN0864.jpg

This map is soo cool! Each of the rides show movement of the vehicles, like the coaster on Screamin', the two Carsland cars racing, the Grizzly boats, and the windows opening at TOT. It's fun to watch and I could have stood there forever. There is also a movie to watch about the improvements being made to the park and Carsland. It's a fun little room to hang out in. :thumbsup2

As we were heading out we found this little guy hanging out in the grape vines.

DSCN0868.jpg

So pretty!
DSCN0869.jpg

We were getting really hungry so we made our way out of DCA and off to a secret dinner DF wanted to take me to to celebrate my birthday. On the way I wanted to snap a picture of a poster I really loved. It was surrounded so I took this one first..
DSCN0870-2.jpg

And was finally able to take this one!
DSCN0871-2.jpg

I love it! I put it in a silver and black frame to hang in my bathroom. I'm thinking about getting some glow in the dark paint and going over some of the signs with it. Wouldn't that be sweet??!!

We rode Indy along the way using our FP's and then headed for the country. Here's a pic as we neared our destination, can you guess what we're having for dinner yet?
DSCN0878-1.jpg

DSCN0879-1.jpg

Big Thunder Ranch BBQ! I've always told him how much I wanted to eat there but it was so expensive. He decided he wanted to take me here for my birthday even though the trip was already kinda for my birthday. :cloud9: I was so happy.... and hungry! popcorn::

big_thunder_ranch_bbq2.jpg

The wait was about 30-45 minutes. By this time it was about 5pm so it was during the dinner rush. We hung out by the animals for a bit.

Finally we were called (buzzed) and were sat! Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but we were to the far right of the stage and furthest toward the back, which was nice. Our waitress was flustered (maybe she was new?) and she even admitted to spitting on the table. I know the feeling of being new and embarrassed all to well so I tried my best to help her feel comfortable. I feel like any time my DF or I laughed she would see us and probably think we were laughing at her. Ah oh well, hopefully she's got the hang of things now. :thumbsup2

Anyway on to the food! I ordered an ice tea and DF got a lemonade. They were served in mason jars which I love! We are actually using mason jars as part of our centerpieces for the wedding. :) The food was great and they keep on bringing out buckets of it! He ate a lot and I tried to also so I wouldn't get hungry later and we could get the most of our money. After a bucket (or two) we were done and there was nooo room for dessert! Here's a pic off Google of the food.

yummoooo!

It was getting to be dark outside and after dinner we decided we wanted to ride Screamin' before it was shut down for the night for WOC, so I snapped a few pics on the way out to test out my no-flash camera!

As we headed toward Screamin', DF made a pit stop while I took pics of the area near GRR. I love this one!

DSCN0906-1.jpg

And then we headed toward Screamin'!

DSCN0907-1.jpg

We didn't get many pics of us on this trip because we were just trying to do everything. But I got this oneee!
DSCN0908-1.jpg

I love this area at night!!

DSCN0911-1.jpg

Speeding on by!
DSCN0916-1.jpg

We rode Soarin' using our FP's on the way out and wanted to use the rest of the FP's we collected for Disneyland. Bye California Adventure! Yes we seriously walked back and fourth that much. :lmao:

On the way to Splash we decided to jump in behind this bad boy.

DSCN0920-1.jpg

Thanks to the DIS I found that you can stand behind this and it raises up so you can see. This keeps the people away from this area. So we squeezed in and made ourselves comfortable (oh who am I kidding, we stood there with aching legs!) and waited for the show to start.

Wellll I love this show soo much, but a family got in front of us and put their little girl on the dad's shoulders. I'm really short so I couldn't see a thing. After it started we just decided to leave and go ride some rides. We started with Splash (surprisingly, this area was not hard to walk through like it usually is. We got there pretty easily and it seemed like crowds were dying down. It was Sunday so maybe that made a difference.

Next we rode BTMRR. Now this was such an amazing part of the night. Something so little can really make a lot of difference! We started riding and the fireworks started playing, we would turn a corner and BAM there's a firework. Everyone on the train was cheering and laughing and it was awesome! I'll remember that ride forever as one of the best. BTMRR is already one of my top faves but this made it much more special to me.

It was hard to take pics but I did get this one.
DSCN0922-1.jpg

This was neat you could see all the smoke so it made this picture look all spooky. ;)

DSCN0923.jpg

We decided to just walk around and snap some pics.

DSCN0934.jpg

We still had FP's for Space but we were getting really exhausted at this point, so we decided to call it a night and give those passes to another couple. It was pretty late at this point anyway. So we made our way out of the park.

DSCN0935.jpg

DSCN0937.jpg

DSCN0938.jpg

DSCN0940.jpg

We found a couple to give our passes to and they were so happy it felt like we made their night! We were so happy to have had a great day at Disneyland and were ready for bed. We made the long walk back to our hotel and crashed! Although it was only one day at Disneyland, it felt like longer because we had the hotel touring day before that.

It was one of the best trips we've had! And now that we're not going for the honeymoon I'm not exactly sure when we'll be back, but probably sometime in October to see Space in it's ghostly form and finally see Carsland! But that could change we may sneak up there this summer! :thumbsup2:woohoo:
Hope you enjoyed it! I'll be posting after this about Aulani and our itinerary so I don't have to make a different PTR. I am so excited for this amazing trip in our life! Thanks again for reading. :flower3::hug:

Glad to know I helped someone else. It is so much easier that way haha! Otherwise I would forget about half the threads I posted on. And thank you! I really like my new camera. Sun set is my favorite part of the day and it's nice having a camera that doesn't need a lot of light to take a decent picture. It will be nice taking pictures with it at Aulani! :cloud9:
