My Wedding/Honeymoon/ and Mother/Daughter Weekend PreTrip Aug 2012

My name is Rachel and I have been a Disney lover ever since I can remember. I have become more interested in Disney podcasts and disboards when I started planning my own trips with DF (Fiance-Steve).

These pictures are from our trip October 2011 and that is when we got engaged. He asked in front of the castle after Wishes

I have loved reading cruise reports and trip reports for the past few months and hope someone will enjoy reading mine! My trip includes a cruise on the Dream, a wedding, Honeymoon and Girl’s Weekend!

DF and I leave for the Happiest Place on Earth on August 4th. We plan to go parasailing on the day we arrive. We are staying at the Grand Floridian for one night before we head off to the Dream (5night-Nassau and 2 days at Castaway) on the 5th. We are getting married on the cruise on Nassau day.

When we return from the cruise we are staying at the Poly for 3 nights and then moving over to the Wilderness Lodge Concierge Level for 4 nights. We plan to relax more than we have in past trips and spend a good amount of time in the water parks.

DF leaves on the 17th and I am staying at the WL Concierge Level with my mom , DM, for a Girl’s Weekend until the 20th. We are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour together because we are way more interested in Disney than anyone else in the family!

I have made some reservations for while we are in Disney World, but am still working on all of the wedding decisions.

Ok so I have some solid plans and would love to hear feedback. Steve and I leave for the happiest place on earth bright and early on 8/4 with a 6:50 flight out of PVD to Orlando due to arrive at 9:35. We are using the magical express and making out way to the Grand Floridian for one night. Our plans are to go parasailing and enjoy the pool.

The next morning we check out and head to the Dream using Disney transportation. When we arrive and check in we will do the regular lunch and also will be exchanging out vows because the legal vows must be done while you are still in port. This afternoon we will also be meeting with the wedding planner for any last minute details. I have a dress for the actual wedding day (8/7), but am not sure if it is going to be ‘the one.’

The second day on the cruise is a castaway cay day and I can not wait to hop off the ship. We plan to do a package that day with snorkeling, biking, tube rental and feeding the stingrays. We planned the first day on the island to be more adventurous and be more laid back on the second day.

The third day is the Nassau Day, BUT more importantly our wedding day!!!! We are not getting off the ship, rather we are going to enjoy the morning and get a couple’s massage and maybe enjoy the Rainforest Room. Or course we will save some time for the Aquaduck ☺ I also have a hair appointment that day and our wedding will be in the afternoon (just the two of us) with a photo shoot and dinner at PALO. This night is pirate night so we also hope to enjoy the show and fire works.

The fourth day is sea day and we plan to partake in whatever Mixology or Tequila Tasting class they have that day. Other than that we are going to go with the flow of whatever is on the schedule for the day we may want to participate in.

The fifth day is the second day at castaway cay, in which we plan to get pictures with the characters, enjoys some drinks, swim out to the slides and have a relaxing day. (That is if we accomplished all we had hoped on the first day there.)

The last day is 8/10 where we will be forced off to the ship and be very sad, but excited to make our way to the Polynesian. This is going to be laundry day! We do not plan to go into the park this day. We plan to enjoy the Poly, do laundry, spend some time at DD and maybe Raglan Road.

8/11 we start our park adventuring with a day at the Magic Kingdom (getting there at rope drop) and dinner at Ohana (6:55). Depending on how we feel either fireworks on the beach of the Poly or going back into the park.

8/12 we are going to Hollywood Studios, which is my Steve’s favorite park! We will be there at rope drop and leave mid afternoon for the pool/nap. We plan to come back into the park for our reservation at the Brown Derby (Fantasmic Dining Package). Steve and I have been to Disney 3 times together and have yet to see it together! I saw it years ago, but we just have yet to force ourselves to get inline so long before the show, so we figured the package would help us with that.

We check out of the Poly on 8/13 and are then going to head to Typhoon Lagoon for the day before we check in at the Wilderness Lodge Concierge Level. We don’t have any plans for this night because we want flexibility since it is such a long vacation.

8/14 we are going to EPCOT and have an ADR for Le Celliar (12:55), which we are extreeeemmely excited about. We have been trying to get reservations for there every time we go and have not been able to get in! Everytime we have gone in the past we had free dining so reservations were a bit harder to come by. This will be the first time we have to pay for our food! Ohh No! We may go back to the WL for naps/pool depending how we feel.

8/15 we have 8:25am reservations for Crystal Palace because it has become a tradition to go there ☺ Then we will be spending the day at Blizzard Beach. Again, we left this night open for flexibility.

8/16 we are going to Animal Kingdom. We plan to be there for rope drop and get done what we want, but we probably won’t spend the whole day there. We have the afternoon and night open.

During our time that we don’t have plans I hope to spend time exploring the resorts since we are staying at very nice places, going to the pools, beach at the resort to watch the fireworks and different resort bars for a fun drink. I want to walk the Boardwalk and go to Beaches and Cream. We know we want to do these things, but want to just let them happen on the trip rather than over plan.

8/17 we are spending the morning at EPCOT before Steve leaves to go back home. My mom is flying in this morning and we will have lunch together at Via Napoli. My mom and I are staying for the weekend for a girl’s weekend. When Steve leaves mid-afternoon to get the magical express back to the airport. My mom and I plan to spend the rest of the day at EPCOT. I plan to let her pick what we do since she will only be there for the weekend.

8/18 we are going to the Magic Kingdom for the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Depending on how we feel either go back to WL for a quick rest or staying the whole day/night.

8/19 we are spending the day at Typhoon Lagoon and then going to AKL to see some animals in the evening. I want to end the day at the Poly for a pineapple drink since my mom has not had one!! And watch the fireworks of the beach.

We leave on the 20th and we will spend our last morning at Hollywood Studios before heading to the airport.
