hi everyone,
i would like to report our very first trip to disney was a smashing success!!
we arrived on the 8th and stayed at port orleans riverside. hotel was nice and clean, people very friendly. although it was a walk to our room.
downtown disney was our first stop- very nice for the day. kids bought some legos saw some cool stuff. later on in the week we went back for hot fudge sundaes at ghiradellis.
sat- magic kingdom!! OMG is all i can say. it is truly magical. we got tons of autographs and went on many rides without waiting too long. the only one was peter pans flight. worth the wait. i can't even explain how much i loved this park. we got to go to the very merry christmas party. if you ever have a chance please see it, don't go on any rides enjoy all the holiday features the park offers. we ate at liberty tree tavern, they lost our reservations but we were able to get in after a half hour wait. still the food was ok.
sun- epcot i loved this park. i will say my only complaint was the food in the italian restaurant but that was our fault. we didn't read the menu. we "assumed" it was american-italian. it is not. i loved it but not a kid place.
we did this park 1.5 days and still didn't get to see everything, even with the short lines. soaring is a must and so are the 'fireworks" at night. they were so beautiful i cried!!! we loved the U.S. building. everyone should see it. the show inside is well worth it.there were great christmas singers before the show. we then went to norway and went on the ship ride. we thought it would be an "educational" ride but it was kind of lame. saw many shows right outside each country. saw a morocan band and bellydancers. china had contorionists and amazing jump ropers doing flips and stunts. of course some princess' were out that day.
mon- MGM nice park i loved the buildings and of course the roller coaster. was too chicken for the tower of terror. my only complaint here was the Narnia show VERY VERY disappointed. don't bother with this one. this felt like disney just need something to fill in an empty spot. i hope they make this better because it could be fantastic. the osbourne light show was incredible it snowed on main st. there also. the decorations were incredible.
wed- animal kingdom loved loved this park. everything about it except that little coaster in dinopark, nearly had whiplash. out of every ride in WDW i hated that one!!! we went on the safari, very nice the kids loved the truck we sat in and our tour guide was so much fun. of course mt. everest was a smashing success! the water ride was fun. thank God we had ponchos on!!
thurs 3 parks mgm. epcot magic kindgom to wrap up things we didn't see. guess what ? still didn't see it
i will say we did the meal plan, it worked out great. it paid for itself over and over. we went with good friends and had a great time.
i would like to thank the 2 women we met in MK at the parade. they gave us some great tips on out trip; they go 2 x's a year so i would consider them experts.
my next trip would be more shows and the tour of the underground
had a blast and will be back again and again
