DCousin - Danny - 11 months old, very cute
DMil - Kim/Grandma Kim has opinions about everything, normally whatever she wants trumps everyone else by her standards (see my old posts for problems with her)
Where to start This is my first trip report or pre-trip report and first ever (probably on ever according to DH) trips to Disneyworld. I started planning this vacation in January of 2004. I originally booked 2 rooms at ASMo with the Prince & Princess package but after finding the DIS, I quickly changed my mind.
After many debate, in August, I decided to rent DVC points and quickly decided that I wanted to stay at the BWVs. (I have known about DVC for a long time and have always wanted to buy in). I waited patiently (yeah right!!) until September and started asking people if I could rent their points. Everyone kept telling me to wait til 11 months out so it could be booked but I wasnt taking any chances. I managed to secure points in October and my they booked in November and I sent my money. I only booked a studio and wasnt sure how I was going to pull it off with 7 of us (no flames please). As we debated getting another studio, DMIL decided that she was coming and invited DUncle and his family, DHs sister, and DHs cousin and her family. DHs sister and cousin realized we didnt know they were invited and declined DMils invite. After a bunch of minds changing, I turned 3 studios into a 2-bedroom rental and DD11, DD8, DBS, were going to share the 2 bedroom with DMil and family. I bought my tickets in December before the tickets so we all have 5 day park hoppers with 2 pluses.
My DH wanted no part in planning so we decided on a budget and off I went. I helped my in0laws get cheap plane tickets and signed them up for Magical Express. And sent them a link to WeGoShop.com. We were planning to drive down with 4 kids and one teenager in the backseat. No stops, straight down. No, were not crazy 1 I was playing online in June and found an awesome deal on airfare for all of us and had to snag it. It also meant fewer nights for the dogs at the kennel and would be cheaper than the gas and meals on the way there and back. My DH hates to fly but he said hell suck it up for the price, and sanity.
Our first night hotel was to be at the Holiday Inn in DTD but due to remodeling problems, we were moved to the Sheraton Safari., we only paid $1.39 for each room (2 rooms) but I wanted my Disney view. Now without our van, we have no way to get around Orlando. I book a limo to the Sheraton but still have a problem getting to the BWVs the next day. So I cancel the Limo, save $40 plus and rent a minivan for 24 hours. Solves all of our transportation problems and lets us food shop. Sunday (day 2) We are planning to sleep in (sleeping in for us means 8 am wake-up instead of 7) I am dropping DH and the girls off at TL. Im trying to get him to take DS4 but hes not biting. I am going food shopping and then to check-in at BWVs. We will hang at the pool til our room is ready. In-laws plane gets in at 2 and Ill meet them in the lobby. DH should be leaving TL by 2:30 so we can drop off the car by 4 at the Dolphin and hop on the bus to MK for MNSSHP. Hopefully well have a room by then. The Party will be our very first view inside the world!
On Monday we are planning MGM for our first real park day. My DH thinks it will be his favorite park. We have a late lunch scheduled at 50s PT café.. Tuesday we are spending the day at AK and get to eat Breakfast with Donald early. I know we will all love the animals and rides. Wednesday we get to step back into the MK. It turned out to be an evening EMH day there but we are going to take an afternoon break eating at WCC and exploring the lodge. It is also my DHs and my 3rd Anniversary. Thursday is Epcot day. No ADRs for this park. We are going to fill up around the world LOL! My DH is under the impression that Epcot is going to be very boring. I hope to prove him wrong. Great rides and see half the world too . Who wouldnt like that? Friday is our Relax, its all fun day!.Were thinking MK again but maybe MGM or DTD in the afternoon. It will be our last full day in the world and we are gonna just do whatever strikes us that morning. Friday the in-laws go home too. Saturday we need to check out and decide between DTD and BB. We have to be on the ME bus at about 4 for our 6:10 flight.
We should be back at our airport around midnight. We have Sunday and Monday with no work or school to just relax. Do laundry and food shop for the week ahead. So less than 15 days till we leave and I got all of our ME tags. Im positive that we can do this and stay in the budget. We wont be able to get all the souvenirs we want but there will be a lot of memories to look back on. Maybe Ill even turn my DH into a Disneyaholic too!!
