I am a local who heads to DLR pretty often, but because of that I have never done the park two days in a row. I have gotten close but never have done it so this trip was a fun new experience for me (it also explained why all of you keep complaining about your feet :lmao: )

I got in on Thursday and tried to first check into my room but found it wasn't ready. So headed over to the parks. I wanted to buy a certain NBC hat but no luck in any of the shops I checked :( So by 1:30 I was inside DCA and checking out the shops before heading over to see what the Food and Wine Festival had to offer.

I have done the F&W at Epcot once last October but this was the first year for DCA to offer the event on weekdays. I could go because of working the Renaissance Faire on the same weekends as the event. So I was extra excited to have this event line up with the Disladies trip and with so many weekday options. I just love Wine!

The first thing I did was try one of the food offerings Mushroom Risotto it was vegetarian and super yummy! Then I went to the Rudd Winery Wine Seminar, the wine was good and the guy was ok who gave the class. I had time between the next seminar to head over to the upstairs patio of the Vineyard room (normally its a wine bar for when you wait to be seated) to the Sparkling Bar. There I ordered a Flight of XYZ Zin's. It was only ok and I wish I had done the Cabernet Flight, but it was still good. The I went to the "Herb Garden" seminar.

I tried to ask before I went to the food demo if the offerings were vegetarian and no one could answer me. When the chef began to explain the dish I thought with CousCous (other part was chicken) half of the demo at least would be veggy so I stayed. Sadly he put chicken stock into the couscous. I was polite and stayed through the class, but was disappointed. There is so little taste difference between Veggie and Chicken stock I wish they had switched that in case they had any vegetarians in the audience or have told us before the seminar that it was not a vegetarian seminar. But the CM's outside the seminar were very nice and apologized and gave me a sample of Mushroom Risotto.

Next I headed over to the last alcoholic seminar of the day the Don Julio Tequilla Seminar. This was a really good seminar. I learned a lot about tequilla, which I enjoyed and the tequilla shots were good! Since I still had a lot of time to kill. I saw part of the Pixar Parade while trying the Hummus. It was TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! It probably was good at noon but since I was eating this food that had probably been prepared hours earlier it was a bit rough. The veggies had wilted, the cracker was mushy and the hummus was dry on top. Not good at all. I decided I needed a little dessert while I killed time before meeting with the ladies so I had a glass of Moscato from the Wine Bar, said "HI" to my favorite CM's and called home.

After some wine I headed over to meet the ladies for dinner at Jazz Kitchen. But got distracted first by the hat that I wanted, which was on display in the World of Disney Shop window. Sadly they wouldn't sell it to me so I walked away still with no hat :(. Then as I was just outside Jazz Kitchen when I ran into friends who I found out were having dinner upstairs. I chatted with them and then headed into the restaurant.

I ended up sitting with some great gals, many of them Hyenas and ironically many of them were in my VIP tour group. Dinner was fun! We chatted, ate good food, watched the Banana Foster's fun and then dinner was over. Some went back to the hotel but Mary Jo, Lynn and I headed over to the parks. We ran into Melody as we headed into the parks, and she joined us.

Mary Jo and Lynn were on their scooters (Lynn is a wild woman on that thing!!!!) we hit Big Thunder (we found out Mary Jo hadn't do that in years!), POTC and HM (where we heard the horse neigh up front!). At that point the park was closing so we headed out of the parks, meeting with other Disladies. Since I was in Mickey and Friends I waved goodbye and headed to my hotel!

Yay! A dislady started her report! Sounds like a great day (except for your hat, sorry) Looking forward to reading what happens next. Love your title-too funny!

Hi Heather!

I had such a good time with you, and meeting you. I want to write more, but I need to get going for the day.

Talk to you later!!

Melody:hug:

Ooops! Wasn't Mary Jo with you on Big Thunder .. . . . it was MEEEEEE (Cheryl)!!!! (Still scared out of her gourd--Big Thunder at night--what WAS I thinking??????)

Hi Heather:wave2:
I just wanted to say how much fun you were during the VIP tour and the reserved fireworks showing later Friday night. You asked such great questions and really made it more interesting. Plus you have a great sense of humor. I hope you post a report for Friday so I can live it vicariously through you once again!:)

IMary Jo and Lynn were on their scooters (Lynn is a wild woman on that thing!!!!)

;) :lmao: Heather you are the biggest crack up...I totally loved meeting you and hanging with you that night....next visit Im pming you to show your butt up over there....

A hyena (and honorary Ladies Only DISer) checking in! :wave2:

I was there the same weekend as you all, but had the family along so didn't get in on all the cool festivities you had lined up. But I proudly wore my brown and pink crown shirt on Sunday! Or was it Monday? Whatever...

Anyway, had to read up on what happened that weekend, I keep hearing little tidbits from the girls; so thanks up front for writing your experience! :)

The mushroom risotto sounds yummy! They should put an ingredients list at least out, so people can see what's in it, not only for vegetarians but those who have food allergies or restricted diets... or are just plain picky eaters!

I'm glad at least you enjoyed the risotto. And tequila! :rotfl:

I keep hearing stories about Lynn on her scooter, but the couple times we've met she's been fairly slow and polite on the thing. But maybe it's just when I'm around??? :scratchin

And what?! There's a horse neigh on HM??? When/where??? Guess I'm usually with one or both kids on that, which probably explains why I can't hear it over the squabbling...

Hi Heather,

It wasn't me w/you on Thursday, but we had fun on our VIP tour on Friday. Loved it when you told JD that he wasn't getting time off on the tour & had him join us on the ride.

That tour was definitely a DL highlight for me. :)

Glad we were able to meet. You're definitely a hoot to be with.

Ok its about time I finish this buggery thing and maybe I will get everyone's names right this time (Sorry Cheryl, it was dark and ummm.... I had tequilla ;) )!

Ok so I dragged my butt out of bed made some coffee and decided I wanted to head out and hit a few more classes. So I was off for my idea of a early morning at DLR!!! I ended up parking at Timon (never parked there before and they let me do it with my AP) around 9:30am. I headed right over to the Boudin Bakery demo. I ask about the food options and found out it was all veggy so I hopped in a seat and was ready to go.

This class was really great, first we had a extra bread roll with infused olive oil and reduced balsamic vinager dip that was delicious. We were told at the beginning of the class that the bread was not our sample so eat up :) The chef showed us how to make two yummy dips and we tried both of those on some crustini. It was a nice addition to the apple I had for breakfast.

I left just a smidge early because I knew I wanted to make it to Nickel & Nickel's wine class. Since they are a high end winery I heard they might have a line, but when I got over there, the line was still very short. I waited about a half hour and got seated. The class was run by their winemaker which was awesome. She was very interesting and informative and it was a great class with some very nice wines. I headed to the bar right behind the patio after the class. They had some of the rarer and more expensive wines only available at limited times at this wine bar so I got a glass of really nice Cab. and decided to take a walk.

I ended up getting a bit more risotto to eat with my wine while I killed some time before meeting all the ladies for the VIP tour.
