Just great my TV bit the dust, took it to be repaired and no can do the replacement piece can't be found and of course luck would have it my warranty expired in July:sad2::sick: can you guys recommend the best place/website to buy another TV TIA

Since you are near me, I'll tell you to avoid Electronics Expo. I just spent 2+ weeks getting them to exchange my Sharp TV that Sharp was telling me to exchange with their authorization. Also, FWIW we are now on our 3rd Sharp TV in 11 months...so I probably wouldn't buy Sharp either.

Well now is the time for TV shopping.

Any particular kind or size you're looking for?

I'm not sure if PC Richards is still having their sales but they had some really good deals the last few weeks.

Don't know if you are a member but BJ's wholesale clubs have very good prices on their tv's right now.

What CC did you use to buy the TV? I know if you use Amex, they give you an extra year warranty after the manufacturer warranty runs out.

Not sure if any other cards do this.

Well, if my tv died this time of year the first place I'd look is Craig's list...hoping to pick up something used for next to nothing. This is a great time because everyone that got new tvs for Christmas will be unloading their old ones. My second stop would be pawn shops.

If those didn't work, we'd be using the kids game tv because I wouldn't have the cash for a new tv right now!

BTW...I bought the cheapie Visio from WalMart 18 months ago and it is working just fine...even after a move from 7000' down to 4000'. (I was told this would fry the system...nope!) The only gripe is that if you have DirecTV their remote isn't compatable with the Visio system, so you have to use two remotes.

Hope you can find something reliable that you can afford!

thank you all for your answers:thumbsup2 I wanted to go out to look around today maybe to Best Buy ot PC Richards but we are snowed in and it's awful outside:sad2:

we're snowed in too.... a couple of weeks ago our old set died, we went to Walmart looked at all the sets (3 days before xmas) and chose the one that had the best picture in our price range (cheap) paid about 360.00 for a 32" LG brand we love it!

I almost WISH some of our old TVs would die...... I would love to replace them with flat screens. the old TVs seem so huge and clunky........ but we still have some of them.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Amazon.com - at least check them for price comparisons.

Someone else mentioned my favorite - Craigslist. I bought an older but still very good 32" TV on CL a few months ago for $50, just to have something to tide us over. We knew the Christmas, after-Christmas and Superbowl sales would be coming.

BJ's here had a lot of TVs left over on Christmas Eve. We're hoping that means a price drop in January!

My TV didn't die but my TIVO did, got a new Directv HD-DRV so "had" to get an hdtv. I got a Dynex (Best Buy Store brand) 32". For $249. The have 3 similar but not identical 32" tv's for that price. The big difference is the number and placement of inputs. So far it's working great after tweaking with the picture. The presets weren't good.
