hey!!!
i was on this website for weeks before i left and got all the great tips from people that i needed. this was our second trip to disney, last time was in june and this time it was july. wow! what alot of heat and crowds. so i am going to tell you all the things you need to know...p.s it was great fun!!!

we went with travel city direct in sunshine first. excellent. the seats were great and we were in the FRONT row and had five windows each side. we had priority boarding and check in queues and we had our own portable touch screen computer with films, games, music, music videos, and tv shows and if we didnt want to watch that then you could watch the main screen at the front. the food was excellent and so was the service. would recommend it to anybody, and was a great price.

we hired an executive villa and this was great. we hired a three bedroom but actually got a four bedroom! the pool was great and thank god for air conditioning!!!

:rotfl:

you know have to pay to park at disney which is 8 dollars and the ticket lasts all day at all the parks so you dont have to pay more than once all the water parks are free parking

saturday 16th july...magic kingdom...
firstly we love it here but the crowds were huge. luckily we had fastpass so we skipped the 90 min stand by queues. plus it was very hot. 100 degrees in the shade.
pirates of the carribean is always our first ride, the queue was only 10 mins so that ok.
stitchs great escape...in the day the queue was 80 min and the fast passes had all been given out by midday, so we went in the evening..would just like to say DONT BOTHER. it is not worth the waiting, and for disney i was expecting something better.

the queues for food were huge, not to mention the chicken wraps!!!
:rotfl2:

the wishes fireworks display were really good and so was the daytime parade, but try and sit in the shade!

splash mountain was a long queue but we managed to get a fastpass and the same for thunder mountain railroad. we only queued for the fastpass line for ten minutes and everyone in stand by had waited 70 minutes and we passed them all!!

also when it thunders all the rides outside close.
when we went on splash mountain and big thunder mountain railroad they both broke down while we were at the top on both but quickly started up again.

epcot:
we got there at nine am and had to queue 20 minutes just to pay to park.
test track fastpass ran out by midday and the same with soaring, we did get to do both and soaring was excellent.
the fire works over the lake were great.

typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach were closed becasue they were full to their capacity, but they opened again at 2 o clock and were still busy, we went in the after noon untill closing becasue the crowds went down in both parks.

mgm studios .. we fast pass most things because it was busy. :rotfl2:
animal kingdom...we got there early and saw the animals on safari, the queue for the tree of life was ten minutes so that was ok.

universal studios was busy but we managed to do all the main rides without fast pass, however islands of adventure was CROWDED CROWDED CROWDED. we did no rides there at all except popeyes rapids! spider man fast pass ran out and was always an 80 minute queue!
the hulk was busy. so we left!!!

:moped:

we then realised when we were there that the american schools go back on 3rd august! so if you are going next week the parks may be a little less conjested!!!! yeah right!

overall we had a great time and didnt want to leave and i know i have moaned about the queues but thank god for fast pass becasue it saved us alot and first class was great.
we had a great time. p.s disney prices for everything is expensiv so hold on to your wallet because that mouse gets a hold of alot of your money! no wonder he calls it the happiest celebration on earth!! he is rolling in it!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :teeth: :earseek:

Very entertaining and informative! Thank you for posting! What did you especially like about MGM and Epcot?

the best thing in MGM was the Lights Motors Action stunt show it was excellent.
the best thing in Epcot was soarin', we had fastpass and beat the queue of 60 mins, it was excellent and really life like. dont do it if you are afraid of heights! :earseek:

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. What a bummer about IOA, you missed out on some good rides,

Claire xx

yeah that was a pain. we went to IOA twice and both times all the fastpass had ran out and it was way too crowded! and that was early in the morning!

Thanks for sharing!!
Just FYI...in case you plan a future summer trip..not all american schools go back that early....
our schools in NJ don't go back until the end of August beginning of September....

Value Season at onsite reorts starts in August, so you can get a week in a deluxe room for 4 for the price of one of you from the Virgin catalogue - OK, you have to add flights, but just work it out - 4 x £900 OR 1 x £800 + around £500 each!

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

thanks. and sorry i got the whole going back to school thing wrong!
i miss disney. :sad2:

Oh Tink don't be sorry...I just wanted you to know so you would not be surprised/dissapointed if you planned another vacation...thinking it would be a lot quieter....
I am sure that the month of August does see a reduction as each week more and more American Children go back to school!

Glad you had a great trip to the States!! :cool1:
I miss Disney too!! :sad2:

Glad u had so much fun Tinkerbell. :flower:

Just wondering if you could elaborate on the Stich's Great Escape - would my DS like it - he's 5?

Thanks

Sarah

:hourglass 23 Days to go - YIPPEE!! :cloud9:

sorry to say that i don't think he will. there were some kids in there when i went in, he may like it, but most of it is in the dark and you are strapped in a chair with a safety barrier(?) around yur neck. it was mainly in the dark with flashing lights and loud noises.(and weird smells!)
we queued for ages and it wasn't worth it.
all the signs around disney say that it is a great ride, but they would try and make it sound better than it is, wouldn't they?
anyway,we LOVE stitch, but next time we would give it a miss.

p.s- if anybody did the ride alien attack- extraterrestrial, when it was in disney a few years(they have got rid of it now) then you will see that the stitch ride is in the same building and has taken it's place.
i think the alien ride was better, but then again i was younger.
sorry guys but i wouldn't say it was very good.

Thanks for posting, nice summary of each day.

I would just like to say that the Midwest States do not go back to school until September 1. Even State Colleges do not start until after Labor Day. I know many families that are going in August. It will be interesting to see how the crowds are mid-August till the end.

yeah it would be interesting to see. it will probably all of us Brits over there instead!!! :rotfl:

That's too bad about IOA. We just returned for a 10 day Disney/Universal Trip. We did 3 days at IOA. We had no problems getting on any of the rides. Typically we rode each ride about twice per day. The one thing we learned when we were their, is get to the park about 30min-15mins before the park opens and get out around 2-3 in the afternoon. Before 10oclock we would have already rode the Hulk twice, Doctor Doom, Spider Man and two of the water rides at least once.

My DS(5) did like Stitch, because Stitch it his latest favourite character (sorry Donald) but I was surprised he did.

We found the IOA fastpass generally not as efficient as WDW, and when we were there we also couldn't ride Spiderman (Good Friday)
