My tenth trip and still so many new things! A February 2016 Disneymoon PTR *Last Updates 2/10*

Saturday February 20th

It is finally here, our Magic Kingdom day! Now, I know a lot of people like to visit Magic Kingdom first, and I used to be like that too. This trip though it just didn't work out like that, mostly due to ADRs and such.

So we will get up earlier this morning than usual, as we have an 8am breakfast reservation! Where, you might ask? Why, here:

I have seen the mixed reviews, but we are looking forward to trying Be Our Guest breakfast ourselves. And, it's pre-park opening! The park doesn't open until 9am, so after breakfast we will head over to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the hopes of getting a ride or two in before everyone else gets there. We don't have specific plans on what all attractions we will do that day, but if I had to guess than after Seven Dwarfs we will most likely head here:

and then make our way to Jungle Cruise after...

...with more fun and attractions after! We have a lunch ADR on this Magic Kingdom day too, and it's one we are both very much looking forward to, Liberty Tree Tavern. I ate there once, on my first trip to Disney at 13 years old and haven't been back since. George has never eaten there. Our ADR is at 12:30pm.

Once we get done eating we will probably be so stuffed we will want to take it easy. The only attraction we didn't get to in MK on our first trip together was Hall of Presidents, and since that is close by we will probably head there to let our stomachs settle.

Our Fastpasses are all in the afternoon and evening. They are:

and

In addition to them I am sure we will also ride

and more.

Our dinner that evening is (for now!) at a new place for both of us, The Plaza. I say for now as we are considering switching to eating at Jungle Cruise Skippers Canteen instead. We are concerned about the number of reviews saying it's small portions of only okay to good food, but the menu does look good to us. If they truly don't take the Dining Plan though we won't be going since we are using the Dining Plan. So, we will see. We are looking forward to eating at The Plaza though, so if we don't switch we will be happy.

We will end the night the only way you should at MK, with Wishes!

Tomorrow will be another fun day!

When I saw changes, I got worried that there were more wedding changes. Thank gosh, they were just rescheduling changes. How nice of Disney to refund $60 because of their error. I like your Hollywood Studios plans. We missed The Great Movie Ride and Fantasmic last trip.

I knew you would think that when you saw changes! :rotfl:

I did not expect the refund at all, and we appreciated it. We were just most happy that we could get the Wild Africa Trek in still, because that is what George is most looking forward to the whole trip and I love it too!

We missed Fantasmic last trip too, and so we are making a point to see it this time!

Just finding your report now, but I'm looking forward to reading more, and hopefully a trip report afterwards!! Your plans look great. I also like going to other parks before Magic Kingdom! Animal Kingdom and Epcot are my two favorite parks  Congrats on your engagement/soon-to-be wedding!!!

Looks like a good plan for MK! It will definitely be nice to have that pre-opening breakfast and hopefully beat the crowds to 7DMT.

I can't really speak about Skipper's Canteen. I wanted to try to eat there, but we just ended up not having time to do it.

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I will definitely do a trip report after our trip too, and will post a link here once I do, so I hope you'll join in there too!

Thanks! Animal Kingdom is the favorite park of both George and I, though we do love them all so much!

Welcome back, I hope you had a great trip, even though I know it was short!

I keep seeing more and more less than stellar reviews for Skippers Canteen, so we will probably just stick with The Plaza, but we will see.

I'm gong to be there during your Trip as well! Just finding this thread. Sorry, I'm not very up on the boards these days.

Holy moly, just 11 days until we leave for our reception party in Maryland, and 13 days until our honeymoon!! I should probably get the second half of this PTR done :rotfl: I'll get it started with a quick couple of days of updates now, and probably more later today since we are snowed in!

Sunday February 21st

Our second Universal day!! Both parks open at 9am and close at 7pm on that day, and we plan to get there at opening! George would love to eat breakfast a second time in one of the Harry Potter eateries (The Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron) so we probably will. :wizard:

After breakfast we will do any rides we didn't get to on our first Universal day (we have the tickets to use both parks each day so we will go back and forth as needed), as well as any we want to repeat. Not sure where lunch will be (though if George has his way it will be in Harry Potter again! :rotfl2:). Dinner, however, we know were we want to eat that at!

Yup, Bubba Gump Shrimp at City Walk! Partially because the menu looks awesome, partially because I won a large gift certificate to giftcertificates dot com at work and one of the options I can chose from is a Landry's gift card. It's large enough to cover all 3 meals we have at the Landry's locations at WDW and to cover this meal too! :dancer:

I'm sure the parks will be closed by the time we get done so we will get a taxi back to All Star Music and probably do some laundry, depending on the time and how tired we are! If we are too tired we will have the opportunity to do it the next day. Speaking of which.....

Monday February 22nd

When we first planned this day to be at Animal Kingdom we knew we wanted to eat at Rainforest Cafe for breakfast (George loves Tonga Toast!). The park was originally supposed to open at 9am and we got a 8:15am reservation for breakfast at Rainforest Cafe. Perfect, right? :rolleyes1 Well, sometime in December I went through the park hours again, thinking they may have changed some and sure enough Animal Kingdom now has EMH morning hours this day, making our breakfast no longer be pre-park opening, but during EMH hours. :sad2:

We didn't want to waste the EMH hours sitting in a restaurant, but we also wanted to definitely eat at Rainforest Cafe, so we came up with a solution. We will eat something small, like a granola bar or the like, before heading out and taking advantage of the EMH hours at Animal Kingdom. After they end at 9am we will head over to Rainforest Cafe for our now 9:15am breakfast reservation while everyone else staying offsite heads in to start their day!

Our first Fastpass will start at 10am, for Kilimanjaro Safari, then the next is Expedition Everest at 11am. I'm sure we will get lunch at Flame Tree BBQ since that is the favorite of both of us at Animal Kingdom, with that delicious barbeque of theirs! After lunch is our third Fastpass for Kali River Rapids. We originally had Kali on our first Animal Kingdom day and Dinosaur this day, but a few days ago I got an email that my Kali one was cancelled by Disney. I'm guessing they are being safe since the rehab is still showing at ending 2/12 but they want to have buffer days. Kali was available on the 22nd and Dinosaur the 16th so I flipped them.

I'm sure we will do a little of everything else we can fit in during the day until the park closes at 5pm. After park closing we will take the bus back to All Star and do laundry if we didn't the night before, or if we did we will head to Disney Springs instead as that's where our dinner reservation is! It's a late dinner as the only reservation time we could get at the restaurant we wanted to eat at was for 8pm, but it will be worth it to us so we can eat here for the first time for both of us!

T Rex!! :goodvibes

We have an early morning the next day, so after what will surely be an entertaining dinner we will head back to the hotel and go to bed!

I'll be back later today to do some more updates!

Holy moly, just 11 days until we leave for our reception party in Maryland, and 13 days until our honeymoon!!
Oh my goodness, this is coming up so quick! Hooray!! You must be SO excited!

George would love to eat breakfast a second time in one of the Harry Potter eateries (The Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron) so we probably will. :wizard:
Ahh those sound awesome! I've never been to Universal but I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan!!!
Not sure where lunch will be (though if George has his way it will be in Harry Potter again!
Hahahaha hey why not right? Whichever place you didn't go to for breakfast can be your lunch destination!
It's large enough to cover all 3 meals we have at the Landry's locations at WDW and to cover this meal too!
Score!!!!!! I've been to a Bubba Gumps before! Back when I was in 8th grade we took a field trip to New York and ate there...I didn't fully appreciate it at that age! Such a bummer too, I'd love to go back!

Yummm sounds sooo good!

I love your fastpass selections!! I usually wait standby for Dinosaur because it's wait is never as long as the other 3. I think I'm going to try Flame Tree BBQ for the first time this trip! Yay!
Yay! I ate here during my first trip back in 2012!! It was really cool! Just like Rainforest, food wise, which I love! And the atmosphere is awesome.

Looking good! And if you don't finish the PTR... no big deal. You've got more important things to be worrying about over the next 10 days or so!

Sounds like you kind of hit the jackpot with that Landry's card! That will be really nice to have so many meals covered by it so that you won't have to pay for them.

The thing about your Kali FP being canceled kind of stinks, but I'm glad that it worked out. Did they offer any kind of "peace offering" for canceling one that you had already booked? In this case it didn't seem to be a big deal, but I know if I took the time to plan and book FP+ and they just cancel one of them after the fact, I'd be ticked if I couldn't get my next choice at a convenient time.

So soon now! We can't believe it's only days away!

George has never been to Universal, though I have twice. My most recent visit was in 2010 though, shortly after Hogsmeade opened, so I haven't been in a while!

We are very excited to eat at Bubba Gump! The menu looks great, so it's great to see a good review!

Flame Tree BBQ may be our favorite QS at WDW, it's just so good. You definitely need to try it!

I'm going to try to get the final update done this evening!

It will be great to have those meals all covered!

All they did was automatically book me a new one it's in place for Dinosaur and email me so I could change it to something else if I wanted to. I was good with the Dinosaur option so I left it alone!

Wow, it's so close now! We leave tomorrow evening to drive to Vegas as our flight out Friday morning is 7:30am, so we don't want to have to get up at 2am (it's a 3 hour drive from our house to McCarren). We wil be in Maryland Friday and Saturday for our reception, then fly back here Saturday evening with my sister who will watch our pets and house while we are gone. Then we leave Sunday afternoon for Orlando and our honeymoon!

Still have a few things to do this evening, so I'll finish the daily plans quickly here, with no pictures!

Tuesday February 23rd

Epcot day! Breakfast is 8:15am, pre-park opening since Epcot opens at 9, at Garden Grill. We are excited to try the new breakfast they offer now. George is especially looking forward to the Sticky Bun Bake! We have Fastpasses to Mission:Space, Spaceship Earth and Turtle Talk with Crush. No ADR for lunch so it'll be wherever we want to eat at. Dinner is at one of my favorite places and somewhere George is really looking forward to, Via Napoli!! We will make sure we get anything done we didn't get to on our first Epcot day as well.

Wednesday February 24th

Second Magic Kingdom day! No breakfast ADR this morning, we will grab something at the resort and head over to MK for our Keys to the Kingdom tour, which starts at 8:30am!! :cool1: While I've done this tour a few years ago, George hasn't and we are both looking forward to it! Lunch will be served on the tour at Columbia Harbour House. Post-tour are Fastpasses are for Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. We have a dinner ADR at Be Our Guest :goodvibes

Thursday February 25th

Our second Hollywood Studios day! Breakfast at the resort, lunch wherever we want and Fastpasses at Tower of Terror, Rock N Roller Coaster and Star Tours. We have a dinner ADR at 50s Prime Time Diner since we both loved it on our last trip! Since it's our last Hollywood Studios day we will do any and everything we may not have gotten to on the first DHS day!

Friday February 26th

Our last full day at WDW , and our third MK day! :earsgirl::earsboy: We have a breakfast ADR with Pooh and the gang at Crystal Palace, which used to be pre-park opening until they changed the hours for the day to an hour earlier. We really wanted to eat here still, so oh well! Our Fastpasses for the day are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. Our lunch and dinner will both be at Be Our Guest, which is fitting since it was our last TS meal on our last trip too and our favorite meal that trip!

Saturday February 27th

Departure Day :sad1: We have a 10:30am flight, so we will have to get on the not-so-magical express, as I call it when we leave, around 7:30am. So we will get up early, grab breakfast at the food court and then leave. We will be sad I'm sure, but it will be after two wonderful weeks at Disney, and we know we will come back!

So, that's the PTR! I will definitely do an TR once we are back, and will post a link here.

Well, isn't it exciting that it's here? I mean, I realize the Disney part is still a few days away, but you're going to be so busy the next few days that time will fly. I hope you have a great time at your reception and have an awesome Disneymoon!

Hi, I'm Alison! I am very very late to the party but stumbled upon your PTR. All your plans sound great. I hope you and your now DH have a wonderful Disneymoon. I will be looking forward to reading your TR when you get back.
