Rosemary, I have felt that way as well. I really shocked myself by thinking that even though I love my daughter dearly, there have been moments when I haven't "liked" her very much.

My DW and I feel the same way at times, now that I see other parents feel the same way, I don't feel so bad.

My mom raised 1 girl and 4 boys, she has told me, that she would take raising boys over girls any day. Of course, I was the oldest boy, and may I say the "PERFECT" son, LOL!!!

I am so glad I found this post. My 12 yro DD is driving me crazy. Her attitude just started a couple of months ago.What also drives me nuts is that she never and I mean NEVER stops talking. She is an only child and has to be included in every conversation we have. She talks through tv shows, movies weather you are listening or not. But DO NOT try and talk to her while she is watching tv or playing her playstation. I want my sweet child back. The one who loved to help her mother clean the house.

Hi Everyone,

I am quite happy to have found this thread, it's nice to know your not alone. I have a 10 yr old she'll be 11 in May. We get much attitude, and the LOOKS. Yikes it's a good thing they don't kill.

But I am also stupid and know nothing about anything. I'm glad there's a support group for this ailment. I just keep saying this too shall pass.
